Bought this 7" one sunny August Saturday morning with wages from my first proper job in 1983.

In the afternoon we battered Burnley 4-1, they'd just come down, we'd just come up and we'd have taken a draw.

Steve Massey on fire that day.

Probably went to Cellar bar beneath Waterfront on the night then ended up at Spiders.

Happy days.

I went to the concert where they played the tour de france album all the way through, at the Tate Modern turbine room in February 2013. Generally don't enjoy live music anymore, but was an atmospheric evening.

RIP Florian.

Computer Love is perhaps the most perfect pop song ever written.

This.

Went to see them live for the first time in 1980 or 81 at Nottingham and Sheffield.

A real WTF moment as they opened with this.

Nothing on stage apart from 4 podiums and then ..... 4 headless and limbless torsos remotely appeared on a rail above the stage.

And as that was happening the song kicks up a gear and then next thing the 4 robots themselves had appeared.

After the 3 chord, leather, sweat and gob of punk and rather rude black and white of two tone concerts, these were absofuckinglutely extraordinary gigs.

Zack Braff
After discovering the news, he wrote on Twitter: “Rest in Peace to one of the funniest actors I’ve ever had the joy of working with,” Braff wrote on Twitter after learning the news.

“Sam Lloyd made me crack up and break character every single time we did a scene together. He could not have been a kinder man. I will forever cherish the time I had with you, Sammy.”
