Let's bear in mind that it wasn't in their past achievements that Royston was comparing Murray with Wenger, but in their personality traits and current behaviour.

There are some similarities I think. The way Wenger reacted with indignant shock at the very notion that his job might not be 100% secure until the end of his contract shows how far out of touch he is with the reality for many Arsenal fans. Murray is equally out of touch with Charlton's fans, preferring as he does the company of a few toadies and apologists.

Wasn't that the slant the media took with regards Curbs and the 'many fans' who wanted him out...That wasn't even close to being true because those fans were only ever in the minority.....Fans like Reams who simply go into 'sack the manager' default mode when things don't go to their liking.

Venger's indignation is somewhat understandable considering what he's achieved at Arsenal, unlike Murray who should've done what was best for Charlton long before the mistakes snowballed.

Murray had a choice - Sell when you have something worth selling, or stay on the ego ride.

Following Robinson’s comments about the takeover last night, it seems increasingly obvious that Murray misled the fans again just to calm the protests down.

“Should happen in February” has become March ...has become maybe next season.

In truth there was no news from Murray no no meaningful update. It was all spin and waffle with plenty of wriggle room included.

All designed to save him from protests.

Precisely.

Murray is either being misled or telling whoppers. I think it's whoppers.

There was a choice for RM way back when when he could choose to align with the good or the bad. He chose RD. No apologies or excuses have since come. He is the mouthpiece for the idiot. There was no reason to particularly believe his dribblings away from the general knowlege that bids had been made (confirmed by multiple sources). Suffice to say he will not be welcome by a lot of the fanbase if he tries to tack himself onto a new owner.
As for Robinson, his wittering nonsense deserves even less than Murray. He has expressed satisfaction with a squad that he as managere must have known was deficient. He has needlessly lept to the defence of the regime when all he needed to do was talk football. And he was denying there was a takeover when it seemed everyone had heard the club was clearly up for sale. He has now apparently sluipped into Pardew mode where he thinks a half hour fillibuster about everythin and nothing will somehow make the fans forget the recent results, and the performances he has engineered. I don't believe he is a bad guy, but his mouth lets him down. In a good season, it would matter little, but this season we were told the absolute minimum was a top six finish - like Katrien before him, he thinks he can claim success when he has achieved the opposite. Who does he think is listening after the last two results?

What’s the betting that Duchatelet’s stooge Murray gives fans another of his “updates” a couple of days before the Easter Monday protest ?

Fool me once ...

Only a handful of weak-minded apologists will buy his lies a second time.

It should be made clear to him that nothing can stop the protests and boycott call now - nothing except a real and complete take-over.
When Duchatelet is gone the protests will cease, and not before.
That should be the message anyway, in my opinion.

No more predictions about a take-over date, no more nonsense about buyers or prices or diligence.
Lies, all of it.

It's all just a front. Reams is a boycotter now. One of us.

So he doesn't like CARD.
Many of us don't have much time for them. But the Coalition does not speak for all Charlton fans who want Duchatelet out.
What unites us is more important than petty differences, power players and opportunists.

ITTV might be coming late to the party, but every Charlton fan (even ex-apologists) is still welcome as far as I'm concerned.
Empty seats in the ground or the directors' enclosure, unsold pies or un-nibbled vol au vents - it sends the same message.
Enough is enough.

Don’t forget, Murray has got plenty of previous when it comes to misleading the fans.

I won’t dwell on the fans shares fiasco :emoticon-0148-yes:

How about when he gave Parky the job on a famous 8 game trial period. He said PP would be “judged on results”

Parky didn’t win a game...and Murray gave him the job anyway.

NLA, who has proved to be a reliable poster on CL is repeating his claim that the problem in the sale of Charlton isn't Roland, it's Murray. I'm not sure how that works if the problem is that Roland wants too much money, but it's an interesting thought, and not one I'd dismiss, considering Murray's distant relationship with telling the truth. He's also shown he can be devious, scheming and spiteful in the past, and leopards don't change their spots.
