I listened to a couple of hours of it last night and the Aussies weren't enjoying it <laugh> Mad that they both finished on almost exactly the same score.

Cook - 154 n/o
Carberry - 153 n/o

Let's hope it continues like that. Personally I'd stick with this line up. Root coming in at 6 gives us runs galore from the top 6 or 7 (in theory).

As if watching wasn't boring enough. <doh>

300 without loss on the first day of the penultimate warm-up game, keep the form going lads..
Carberry hasn't done anything wrong in this two knocks, so could drop Root to No6, take Bairstows stop..
However, I'm a fan of Bairstow, didn't do much wrong in the summer and Root has looked decent (considering his inexperience at opening the batting) when up the order.

Welcome back to the real world, ****chops <laugh>

In a more meaningful game ;), India are currently in a good position against West Indies:

West Indies 196/7 (64.1 ov)

So do you reckon Carberry has nailed on the other opener slot?

He's not done anything wrong.. But
To be honest, not seen much of him so wouldn't want this to become another Compton scenario, looked decent against lesser opposition then go found out at Test Level.
There's another But..
Right now, unless they stick with Root at the top, leaves #6 spot up for grabs, I go back to what I said that for me Bairstow didn't do much wrong..

In short I would mind a Top 7 of:

Cook
Root/Carberry
Troot
KP
Bell
Bairstow (Root if Carberry gets the opening slot)

Who the ****'s he? <yikes>

<laugh> Is he any good?

Not with you on Bairstow really.

No worries, from what I've seen, he's done well (enough) coming in at 6, would (will) improve over time, he's a damn decent fielder too..
However, Carberry's meant to be decent in the field too and Root going in at 6 would give us a very strong (if on form) middle order!

This is what I'd go for. It'd also create the possibility of another Suarez ban <laugh>
