Correct Michael Obafemi ...24 yrs old....5ft 7in forward.....seasons loan from Burnley....limited playing time in the last two years....played 14 times on loan at Millwall last season......obviously not a target man being so small..
Pasoti all of a quiver with hardly a decenting negative comment on this one. God he must be bleddy good then.
I see that Femi Azeez....who we're led to believe Argyle where long interested in has signed for Millwall.
In case you haven't seen it.... https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/football/plymouth-argyle-elfsborg-michael-baidoo-9509840 Eighteen goals in 65 games from midfield in the Swedish top league!
A lot of talk about Burnley putting in a offer for Whittaker.....loan him for this season and buy him next season....thrown out by Argyle....they must think that they're dealing with country yokels....sounds more of an insult.
The ‘Erald says Argyle have rejected a bid feom Burnley for Morgan Whittaker. It’s also says the Argyie have made a new club record bid for Michael Baidoo.
Burnley signed another midfielder yesterday. The initial fee was £5.4m. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cy84jr2dd3xo This guy is described as a "play-maker". I don't think that's quite how I'd describe Morgan Whittaker, so perhaps the two things aren't connected. They do have plenty of cash to spend, not just because of parachute payments but because several of the Premier League team have departed for big money: O'Shea £15m to Ipswich Berge £25m to Fulham Odobert £25m to Spurs Muric £15m to Ipswich
Thank god the window closes in a few days. This story is getting as boring as the Cooper one did in the end.
Last day of the summer transfer window.....will Whittaker be involved....are we able to get a No10 who can be a match winner. What happens today might define our season....mid-table security or bottom three dog fight.
And PS, Argyle announced that. Morgan Whittaker was not for sale earlier this afternoon. Not for sale: Argyle decision over Morgan Whittaker https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sp...rgan-whittaker-burnley-9519298?utm_source=app
I can't get excited having read plymborn's post where once again there is no talking up the team in green. Mid table or bottom dogfight........ Not one shred of thought we may do better than that. No wonder the rest of the World is talking Argyle relegation before the season even started. Despite all the talk of Whittaker going and that being nailed on and us not being able to sign anything worthwhile I think we have done ok in this window. Whittaker still here and the signings we have made don't look terrible. All we have to do is put Schuey back in his box tomorrow and all will be well with the world.
It’s seems it was £800k for Al Hajj. A considerable sum for us. And it would presumably have been more for Baidoo.
I’d like to know how Rooney really thinks the process went. He’s pilloried for his time at Birmingham but I think there the owner had his oar firmly in what went on. We may have a relatively small budget but the process is transparent and under the control of the football people.
Can I also say that whoever is in charge at Burnley is a moron. Let’s get that straight. You take a player on loan, with no cash changing hands, no money made available to replace the player, and if, which is a big if at this stage, and not under your control, or ours, you get promotion, we get paid. I don’t know what someone who comes up with that is on, but I want some.
