With both Sheff U and C Palace showing interest in Michael Cooper it seems that Argyle have put a £3 million price tag on him. That surprises me that they only value him at that....and if that is the case surely it would be more beneficial to keep him until the January window hoping that we can prove his fitness is not a problem and maybe increase his value.
That's not enough. He's every inch a modern goalkeeper who's confident with the ball at his feet and he just exudes calmness to those around him. I'd start the bidding at twice that. I can't imagine he'd want to go to Sheffield United: Crystal Palace, just going into the 12th consecutive year in the Premier League, might be a bit different.
I fail to understand how Argyle can consider that £3million is a fair price for Michael Cooper......Im would have started at £8million.
Rangers have had a second offer for Morgan Whittaker turned down.....it is being suggested that Argyle value Whittaker at £10 million .....if that is the case then I feel he is being undervalued.....19 league goals last season plus quite a few assists is worth more than that.....he would have achieved more than that if he hadn't been overplayed in the latter part of the season. It also seems that Rangers are cash short at present and any deal would be angled at paying in the future....surely that doesn't suit Argyle.
Sorry to see him go personally. He's been a good servant to the club and always played with a bit of mischief. I'll aways remember that sending off when he and the other guy both went in hard and both got read cards! https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sport/football/wrexham-plymouth-argyle-dan-scarr-9455572
I liked Scarr as well but at his age and probaly a pay rise given where he has gone I can't blame him. He would not have played much under Rooney in my opinion and now has a three year contract where he probably will play a lot. All I can say is thanks Dan and best wishes. Top pro.
A little disappointed that Dan Scarr has moved on to Wrexham....he should do well in that league. There where times when he played a blinder for us and other moments when he didn't look up to Championship level. We haven't played any quality pre-season friendlies and I'm not sure if Argyle know what their best defence.or attack is and so near the seasons start. I expect everything could change in the next few weeks....If Whittaker and Cooper move on...that would give us finance to bring in some genuine Championship players and make us more competitive at this level.
When did he not look up to Championship level? Obviously all defenders make mistakes but I thought he did reasonably well - in fact I worried far more about the teenage loanees than I did Scarr.
All I can say is last half a dozen games of the last season showed that Dan could hold his own at this level and did very well. However, I think that Rooney would have donea Foster and not put him in very often or unless forced. I know what I saw from him and think that Foster was wrong, but was about a lot of things, and think Rooney would have been wrong also. Every player without exception makes a mistake in almost every match.
He certainly didn’t let anyone down and he looked relatively comfortable. Admittedly he’s less comfortable against smaller more nimble strikers and maybe you wouldn’t pick him for certain games. But against a big strong lad, he’d do a job for you.
Incoming (hopefully) Wayne Rooney confirms Argyle close to signing Hungarian defender https://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/sp...le-rooney-kornel-szucs-9457318?utm_source=app Another Krisztian Timar?
Not like Argyle to give a nod before the event is it. This has been announced all over the place yet no signing has actually been made. Will look a bit silly if it should go tits up.
I don't disagree. It was leaked in Hungary but "we don't comment on speculation" is not a lie (until you start doing it).
Sheffield U have put in an improved bid for Michael Cooper......the United manager is keen to strengthen his goalkeeper options and he has made Cooper his No1 target.
