I'm talking about the team Larry took over, which was pretty ****e. You're also not taking into account there were a lot of young players who have improved since then. If we had all the same players at the same stage of development we'd be getting thrashed week in week out.
Ah well, that's that then. Need to clobber him when we play Palace ... http://www.cpfc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10323~2790731,00.html
You know Elmo, you're a little ray of sunshine. Now smiling with that thought. Actually, just laughed out loud.
Dreadful career decision by Ward, he will live to regret moving to Palace. http://www.cpfc.co.uk/page/Home
What did Scotland say "YES" to? The USA asking politely "can we thump you on our soccer field in Florida?"
It was our way of easing the tension re. Al Megrahi. Couldn't have you carpet bombing us, could we? And we excel is allowing people to beat us at football. Has taken years of practise.
The referendum on independence. The media in Scotland, especially in the west of Scotland would have you believe that most people want to stay within the UK, but that move by the media was expected. Roll on.....
Of course I've not spoken to a single person who does want independence, so as far as I'm concerned... Scotland says NO Bring it on Boaby
Saw a poll on the news that would suggest it was pretty much a close split 56% no 44% yes Not that it makes any difference to me
Born in Scotland, English Dad, Scottish Mum. No-one I have spoken to wants independence, although I suppose it's different in different areas. Personally I have a sentimental attachment, considering myself British more than anything else, and the campaign for independence is based on nothing more than sentimentality and guesswork.
Am I the only one that believes this is not a decision that should be taken by Scotland alone? I mean, what if England had a referendum to end the Union and it came back Yes, couldn't we jettison Scotland even if Scotland voted No? Will Scotland continue with Sterling, or move to the Scottish Pound either independently or fully linked 1:1 to Sterling? Or will they join the EURO (hmm, great idea! - swap one Union for another, just as it is falling apart - all new countries to the EU must join the EURO and I'm not sure Scotland would have the right to keep the veto)? What happens to Wales and Northern Ireland? Can we not jettison them aswell? They just cause problems. Or should we completely redact the Union, and choose the European model whereby all four of us are independent nations but we come together for economies of scale purposes in certain arrangements - how is that different to now? What exactly does "independence" mean? Is any European country independent? Do each of our countries do better because we are together? Or do any of our countries fare worse than others, considering the amount of money they contribute to the Union? Far as i am concerned, Scotland Wales and NI can all be independent, allowing us our own independence, and we can all stand on our own two feet (rather than one each others)
Like many Scots, I'm all for England being an independent country. I support anything that brakes up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
My previous statement was rather tongue in cheek, although it may not have come across as such. Like many English, I look forward to the day when the Yes vote comes through and then you all sit around scratching your arses, saying "Oh ****, now what the hell do we do?" Because I seriously do not think you "Yes men" have thought through all the little idiosyncrasies and the impact on daily life. We are much more than just an economic union, our complete integration over the last 400 years or so means we are actually one nation, a completely equal partnership. The great tradition of liberalism and fairness and tolerance is inbred in that no-one bats an eyelid at Scots in England or Wales, or vice versa, and we all live under one law. But there does seem to be a rising tide of nationalism coming from some in Scotland - that borders on racism and xenophobia at times - that is very intolerant, and rather extreme. If it does get to 50%, we would be very much better off getting rid of you and putting up a massive ****-off wall. Let you go the way of Poland and Estonia with your extremism.
Let's face it Boab, if we're going to have a master, Brussels is just as far away as London, and probably more in touch with Scotland's needs.
