I don't associate tractors with Ipswich, I associate inbreeding. They are desperate to sign Ward as they want him to expand their gene puddle. He'll hardly play a game for them, he'll be too busy impregnating their sister-wives!

How sad is it that we're all desperate to sign an average player currently in a L1 side

Even if he's average he's still better than anything we've got, as depressing as that might sound.

Agreed <ok> but its not asif hes an absolute worldy who is miles better than anyone else we could target. Never seen so much fuss about a player no one actually knows anything about. Desperate times

Yeah true. Tbh if I had the choice as to who to sign at full back, I'd definitely choose Lichaj. Although that wouldn't be particularly likely even if our chairman did invest in the club <ok>

I loved Lichaj at leeds. Pace, power, good on the ball and could also play LB fairly well. Our best full back in years (even if it was only on loan)

Not likely he'll drop a division, we'll pay his transfer fee or wages though as you say. More likely to sign that York City LB we're linked with <doh>

Lichaj was complete quality. Really would've liked us to go all out to sign him last year, what with McCartney's loan ending and Connolly only average. As you say, he was great at LB too, giving us cover in two positions and actually being able to play both with distinction.

Yeah, you know it's bad when York City players are being linked...at least we're not paying £1.3m on non-league strikers though <laugh>

Just thinking out of the box chaps. If we hold a protest outside ER saying we don't want Ward, do you think old batesy will try to spite us all by pulling out all the stops to sign him?

No, it will just give the chairman the "not-our-fault" excuse he loves to use when bad things happen/good things don't happen!

I considered that too jock. Truth is he doesn't do things out of spite he does it because he's already got his own ideas and is oblivious to the ideas of others. Don't think it would work unfortunately. Might have to try a stab-him-in-the-eyesier approach.

or just stab him in the head with a prison-style shiv. Rinse and repeat until he stops twitching.

It isn't so much the player, it is the principle of Bates backing Warnock - If he isn't being backed over the Ward signing then what hope have we of securing other targets? We saw the shambles Grayson was forced to bring in through lack of backing, don't expect Warnock to do the same, we shall just be managerless.

might be funny if we all start sending anonymous letters to bates house complaining about anything and everything. Even stuff that doesn't make sense. Just really push the boat out and complain about everything.

“I see both sides and I also understand the club having to get the money they could for Howson because his contract was up six months later but it doesn’t help the fans. They want to see a top team and, quite honestly, you’ve seen with my retained list that I don’t think we’re anywhere near as good as we should be with the size of this club.

Warnock can see straight through the clubs books. Hes been at enough clubs with a variable budget to see theres something wrong here, thats why he will continue to push for funds.

He will walk though, when he doesn’t get it. I believe Bates knowing **** All about football or how to run a business thought Warnock would get the best out of Graysons lads & push on for promotion. I bet Warnock is thinking Grayson worked miracles now! One thing is sure a gagging order wont stop Warnock telling us exactly the way it is if he does walk. Question is who would pick up the poisoned chalice?

I got half a mind to send Marko to Monaco to sort this out once and for all. With one of these, of course.
