Darren Drysdale on Saturday. Now aged 55, must be one of the oldest refs around. He lives in Lincoln. Must be setting off now for our 12.30 kick off.

He did our 2.0 win at Wigan earlier this season and actually got some praise from us for his calm decision making. That will be needed at Plymouth where it is always a rough and tumble.

He has not refed above League 1 for 10 years or so. We used to see him in the Championship but I think he got busted down, never to return after an altercation with a player.

Edit: Wrong that was 2021 when he got into a tete a tete with Ipswich's Alan Judge v Northampton.

If he's from Lincoln, don't expect any favours from him. <doh>

Wherever he was from he was as expected at this level incompetent and inconsistent.

On what world would we get a penalty for that?

He wasn’t kidding anyone with his smiling and reminded me of that ex JB boss & airport assistant.

Anyway after that clown we have Edward Duckworth (Vera’s grandson) up in Donny. He was at CCS for a league cup match earlier this season, and is not shy bringing out his red card - 5 in past 11 games. Maybe a few early substitutions by BBM then <whistle>

Only his 4th season in the big boys leagues. Has done 5 Championship games this season.

As Nin says he likes flashing his cards, over 5 per game in 25/26.

The league Cup game was our 3.0 win over Swindon where Holloway nearly suffered a stroke on the touchline. Not all bad then!!!

Okay guys the ref for Saturday's big one is Tom Reeves. He did our 0.0 away at Port Vale and 1.0 home win v Exeter.

I didn't see either game but from the match thread comments I couldn't see anything really negative about him. One or two gripes but not a sack full.

In League 1, 7 appearances, 17 yellows, no reds.

He's from Cov. Robbie have a quiet word with him please. Got to look after the CCFC's.

Tom Reeves, gripes about a referee, welcome to my world. :emoticon-0138-think

Well he wasn’t great today was he?

Will Finnie at Barnsley. Did our home game v Wigan.

Also our away game at Norwich last season when unbelievably shocking horror he gave us a penalty - remember those? We’ve had one this season.

Agreed. After giving their no. 18 a yellow for his pike and double twist, the fecker did virtually the same again and no action. Should have been a second yellow and offski.

Their centre back puts his head in the way of a free kick, goes down as quickly as the no. 18. We get the ball as it breaks away. The ref stops the game for the cb to have treatment. The berk of a ref gives them the ball for the restart. He did similar again in the second half.

Their keeper was taking 30 seconds per goal kick. He books him for time wasting and the keeper still took 20 seconds plus per kick.

Very weak officiating.

If there’s a head injury in the box whilst the ball is in the box it’s an automatic re-start by the keeper. It’s a rule open to abuse by defenders.

Okay, did some digging, looks like Ben Speedie on Saturday. He did our first home game with Peterborough at the start of the season, 2.1 win

Carl Brook for Wycombe next Tuesday. I don't think we have had the pleasure before.
Mr B Speedie, some parents shouldn't have kids. :emoticon-0138-think

He didn’t win over the City faithful tonight. Arguable red card - looks like he couldn’t wait to bring it out - and thereafter was in poor but in line with most refs we’ve had this season.

Saturday brings another newbie Steve Parkinson.
