Good to see a PL ref stick to his on field decision after VAR told him to have another look at Man C yesterday.

This shows how inconsistent refs are though at any level as the VAR refs thought that the on field ref had made an obvious error.

He could easily have sent Roberson off for a second yellow. Barnsley players tried their best to persuade him but fortunately for we got a break (like Mafiko in an early season game).

Martin Coy at Burton. Reffed our win at Luton this season.

He was shockingly bad. Clear red card and penalty in the first half. He gave up on giving free kicks for most of the second half. How do these people get assesssed?

The 'foul' on NG happened right in front of me, Although I naturally shouted for a penalty, I wasn't really convinced it was. But then what do I know.

Appears to be a newbie for us at Rotherham. Sebastian Stockbridge.

Whilst he’s an unknown quantity, it could be worse, Steve Martin is dropping down to League 1 (Plymouth v Lincoln) so dodged a bullet there.

Thought I recalled the name. Got to remember a ref called Sebastian. Apologies to any Sebs on here.

He did our 1.0 cup defeat at Peterborough. The omens not good then.

No comments on his performance on the match thread.

Cardiff v Luton, referee Oliver Yates, I hope he doesn't make you whine and lodge complaints against him. :emoticon-0138-think

The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.

We have had the pleasure of his company just once. He did our EFL Trophy game v Newport last October.

I can't remember much about him. We were crap on the night losing 0.1 to the League 2 relegation fodder.

He has never refed above League 1 level despite officiating since 2019 at least. I can't be arsed to go back beyond then but it won't be any better.

We seem to be getting refs we have never seen before at least 2 weeks from every 3. Is League 1 meant to be a development/proving ground for refs?

If so, it isn't working.

Darren Drysdale on Saturday. Now aged 55, must be one of the oldest refs around. He lives in Lincoln. Must be setting off now for our 12.30 kick off.

He did our 2.0 win at Wigan earlier this season and actually got some praise from us for his calm decision making. That will be needed at Plymouth where it is always a rough and tumble.

He has not refed above League 1 for 10 years or so. We used to see him in the Championship but I think he got busted down, never to return after an altercation with a player.

Edit: Wrong that was 2021 when he got into a tete a tete with Ipswich's Alan Judge v Northampton.
