There was a Jack on a thread yesterday bragging about Swansea being a global brand!!!

It should be comedy gold but its sad that even some supporters think this is important.

Probably wasnt at the Vetch when you were getting 2000 crowds.

They took our terraces and football has been turned into a product.

What next cheerleaders?

Like Swansea Town resisted administration? Why the Jacks feel free to offer opinions on the finances of Cardiff City is one of the universes great mysteries.

Don't want to get to involved with such a delicate subject to a team not mine . Paying bills at a price seems a bit carrot & stickish but hell , you can always change back after they go I suppose . I know I wouldn't like it but if there going to pump mega money in , let er rip !! . Good luck figuring out how you guys feel about this scenario , quite a pickle . P.S. ... " Red Dragons " ... kinda cool if you can embrace change . No matter what though , I'll always refer you as the " Bluebirds "

Firstly there is a big difference between changing a home kit but still keeping the club colours and identity from the last 25 years and completely changing the identity a club has had for over 100 years. Also I'm not sure you know what a yo-yo club is if you think we're one. Anyway, you clearly love being a twat to people being sympathetic to your club's issues. <ok>

Firstly, I just like being a twat to Leeds Fans
Secondly, we've played in Red before
Thirdly, the club started out as Riverside FC
Forthly, we started out playing in black and amber
Finally, How many divisions/relegations and promotions have Leeds been in the last few years?

Don't require sympathy from a Leeds fan so sling yer hook

Im with you all the way on that Hilts - i ve been there on those days of 2000 and his dog and id take it any day over being part of some faceless tycoons wet dream

There's a difference between a yo-yo club and a PL club who've had a financial collapse. I find it odd that you clearly care so little about your clubs history and tradition. You changed from Riverside at a time when football teams were still in their infancy and no-one really had any set image or identity, now though you'd be doing away with with over 100 years of tradition and I find that a sad thing for both your club and the game in general.

bluebird1927(or should i call you reddragon now?) - they are not really connected though are they but seeing as you brought it up - yes we have suffered some dark days and we are not proud of that - we are proud of the fact that we are now running a steady ship though.
its not really a mystery is it - you are our arch rivals for one and secondly its not just about you, its about football fans and the way football clubs are run in general
 
She's a close one Simon . Cardiff are the one of the most accomplished teams in the Championship , for quite a while IMO , regarding accomplishment without parachute payments & such& not being in the top flight for a long time . . There so close to realizing there dream , I say jump through all the hoops they have to to get stable & f#ck tradition & that's hard for me to say .

Dont give me your patronising bullshit. The reality of modern football is that you cannot afford to be sentimental, all good managers do this when it comes to say goodbye to a crowd favorite who is past their sell by date etc.

Correct me if im wrong but didn't you have the meltdown, get relegated, playoffs, relegated, missed promotion due to points deduction (unfair btw), promotion, also ran, also ran. Sounds like a yo-yo club to me.

Don't get me wrong, If this all does come about I will be deeply sad the team I've supported all my life is no longer called the Bluebirds or plays in Blue, but nothing stays the same forever and its better to evolve than to become extinct.

I would say a yo-yo club is a club like West Brom or Birmingham who spend their entire histories pointlessly bouncing between the top and second tier, pnot exactly the same as us.

I think it's that kind of attitude that is allowing the death of the game we love. It doesn't have to be like this, just look at the Bundesliga. Our clubs don't have to sell their souls to foreign owners who don't understand our game and try to turn them into franchises like in yankland, money doesn't have to be the bottom line. This would not be normal change, it would be Cardiff City selling it's soul.

Think you overestimate the mental powers of Leeds Fans.

The fact is that most if not all of the clubs in the Championship are paying wages that they cannot afford. With the Financial Fair Play rules coming in this will not be allowed to continue. Unless pro footballers suddenly decide that they are being paid too much, clubs are either going to have to rely on sponsorship deals from their owners or sell players. Selling your best players will not get you promoted so what I think you will find is that clubs will have to open themselves up to corporate sponsorship. When you rely on outside benefactors paying you vast sums of cash, they are going to want something in return. However much we as fans do not like it, we cannot swim against the tide. The days when the ordinary fan had a stake and a say in the running of the club are coming to an end, if we are not there already.

Move with the time, or stand still and die
 
I'm not a Cardiff fan by any stretch of the imagination , but I am a football fan . I would just like to see Cardiff have a season where windup orders & owner apathy don't have a majority say on what a good manager & his team could do coming round the clubhouse turn . I just think that restrictions put on Cardiff around the New Year ( for whatever reason ) over the last while ,and Cardiff fall from form around the same time is no coincidence .
