If true, curious who the other option would be that would cause us to put a halt to the deal, as Gorkss is an excellent defender at this level.
 
I can't deal with this. Just as I learn to desperately want a player (that I'd scarcely heard of before) I now have to start all over again. Feel sorry for Gorkss, but we pulled out on another deal last season when player had already said goodbye to his teammates, so we have previous. Saints appear to have feelers out in lots of places, so Gorkss must have been a back-up. This had better be good, Nicola..playing with our emotions like this.

I can imagine Robbie soaking up the sun in LA, just like one of those prolonged Spurs injuries, every so often popping up on Sky to remind us he's still alive, but Eto'o, I have more of a problem with. Give it 5 years, the Russian and Brazilian leagues will be the top leagues in the world. The game is growing at the same rate as their economies.
 
Cannot possibly believe it will be Fontaine instead of Gorrks! Why on earth would we drop a class defender for nothing more than a injured average one? Maybe NA like the sound of Fonte and Fontaine?
 
I think someone is taking the p... It doesn't make sense to go through the whole transfer process only to be told that Saints have changed their minds because they have found someone better.
However, our chairman is getting a reputation for hard nosed dealing.

We have one of the best scouting systems outside the prem, so i will trust the clubs decisions, however if he is ****, the scout can be hung, drawn and quartered :s
 
It all looks believable until the line about him picking an apartment and my suspension of disbelief fades like a Portsmouth attack. One week to go and the silly season will be done till January
 
Its tedious enough but we were in suspense about Jack Cork for a long time and its paying off ok. I was really looking forward to Kaspar joining our side but I probably got my hopes up too much. I haven't really heard or seen much of Liam Fontaine but I've followed Gorkss and QPR closely the last two seasons or so. I trust in Cortese to make a decison that is best for the club. Transfer windows, speculation, the ****ing rumour mill.

We won't regret it at all, we've got 3 left backs at the club who are deservedly higher up the pecking order than him, but he's still a god player and I hope he does well for you.

Just goes to show the strength in depth we have in our squad right now. Good times.

as for Gorkks, would have been good but he doesn't really fit in with the signings we've been making so far (young, potential to play in the prem etc) so it's not surprising that NA has turned his attention elsewhere.

You played a league 1 outfit... With a good team around him...
No doubt he is good, never got a look in when while we have better left backs not to mention a future England star in Luke shaw ;)
 
I'm gutted I wanted Gorrks here much more than Fontaine, think about the mix up we will have in the car park now!!
