Don’t know much about Nietzsche. Was he partial to a light ale? Apparently Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle. And Emmanuel Kant was an old piss-ant...
Better to be an optimist, because as said you recover quickly from disappointment. I am confident when Saints aren't playing.....so that's pretty much most of the week and the summer break is a bowl of cherries.
He didn't drink cos he thought it made you happy when your life was a bit **** and you should actually make your life less **** I like a two-pronged approach myself as doies Mrs S
Could be worse mate, you could've supported the Skates and have had about 5 good seasons in the last 60 or so!....
Steady on, everyone’s allowed an opinion. Some people don’t like having there’s questioned though.... despite it being a discussion board.
I will be watching Spuds with great interest this season. We know the reason hey have not signed anyone - Levy and the new stadium - but it is brave and I will be very interested to see if it works for them. The bar was already set high there, so we’ll se if just keeping your stars is enough. Opponents will know the players and this means that there will be more out on Pochettino and his tactical ability. I think he’ll need a plan A, B and C this season. We’ll see how he gets on.
For the first time in god knows how long, I will be wishing spurs well this season (except when we visit in December). Certainly I would love them to finish above Liverpool. Unlikely though.
I have the same Sentiment, I just couldn’t bring myself to put it in writing I also like Poch. But don’t tell anyone because he’s a lying weasel too
I’m going to leave the line about Mrs S liking a two-pronged attack alone.... No pampas grass outside my front garden!
What will be will be...guys and gals. There's not a Saints fan that doesn't hope we at least stay in the top league as a first priority. Then without exception we all want to finish up that league as high as possible. Some doubt we can which is natural, others are more optimistic. That ladies and gentleman is what being a footy fan is all about.........COYS........See you there guys this afty..............
I gave it a 3, but I was thinking regular 1-10 scale where 5 is average and both 1 and 10 are realistically possible values. So a 3 for me means decidedly below average but I've seen worse. If we were doing this on a football player rating curve I'd give it along the lines of a 5, I guess.
I’m sticking with my rating. I do like Ings though, if he can stay healthy which is a big IF. It’s all in fun for me, though. Kind of silly to think you can rate transfers before they have played a real game. Or to change your mind after just one game. I will argue and debate heatedly on messageboards, but I would never actually bet on sports. That tells you how much stock I put in my own opinions!
For me anything below a 5 is making the squad worse. Selling your best players etc. I'd have rated the Jan window a 2 having sold VvD and brought in Carrillo . (they get a point for at least trying to address an issue) If you rate this window a 3 you're not leaving yourself much room for the real **** windows to go below it
For me to give a rating as low as 3, we would have had to have bought just one or two players or several non-league players. I see 5 as average...so I am sticking with a 7 with the possibility that it might go up if the new players turn out to be as good as I hope. We got a good keeper to lengthen his contract and signed a group of players with real promise. And we paid decent money for them....which surely must allay the fears of some fans who thought that Gao would suck it all up.
There's an article on the Ugly inside saying we are looking at an out of contract player. They also mention Ben Arfa who has been released by PSG. Either way i rate our window as a solid 7
That’s a very good point. What it tells me is not just about the stick you hold in your own opinion, but just how bloody difficult it is to say what is going to happen. Sensible chap. I don’t bet either.
