If I remember correctly that was the season we had 3 or 4 different home shirts.... started with admiral who did a cracking shirt, but went bust.....umbro took over and produced 2 or 3 variations, with a white collar, blue collar and a v neck.....

Images from historical football kits website, although they don't show the blue collar shirt....

Absolute state of this. Saves me a few quid not watching us at Norwich for the 764th time at least.

This stuff stinks. 12:30 kick off on New Years Day. **** off.

Season ticket has arrived.
The knock on effects to local businesses must be huge. Personally I'll get the train in for 3:00 games & have a few pints. Prefer not to drink after games so for 12:30's just drive in.

A huge loss to big saturday paydays for the pubs.

Atmosphere is dead for 12:30s. Negates our advantage. Doesn’t have an impact for clubs like Watford and Bristol City.

From a convenience point of view I don’t mind it as I don’t drink a lot and get back for the evening but it’s **** for so many people. Away fans of course, drinkers, families with a kid who does morning sport, the diehards who schlep to Loftus Road from the middle of nowhere.

Nobody who isn’t a Norwich or QPR fan is watching that game. Not one person.

Just a small point Taff but that photo is from the tie played at the SW6 Lots sh1tehole of a ground..... game ended goalless....

The replay was the following week on a Tuesday lunchtime kick off at 1:30 due to the power strikes during the winter of discontent with Stanley scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win. This was our 1st ever victory over that lot, amazingly for the kick off time there was close to 30,000 crowd.....

Found this you tube clip showing brief highlights...

I’ll be doing similar. Train in, match, train out. My big concern is how will the players respond to the earlier kick offs?

I think there’s a misconception early KOs tend to be slower, duller matches. Players are pretty used to it, they’ll prepare in more or less the same way even if Wayne Rooney complained he had to eat pasta at 9am for his £300k a week.

The atmosphere undoubtedly suffers which can impact the game a bit but we probably overestimate the impact we have.

And for sure local businesses. I might at a push get in early enough for a tenner at a cafe before rather than £20 for lunch. Away pubs particularly losing out when they’re probably kept alive outside of London by matchdays.

Is the 5:30 slot no more? That wasn’t so bad.

A limited player ability wise, but he always gave 100% for the hoops whenever I saw him play. A true journeyman and a proper professional. He comes across as a genuine guy too, and a thoroughly good egg. Has for my thanks for all the times he pulled on the hoops Jersey. Good luck for the future Matt
