Canadian province experiments with decriminalising hard drugs

Canada's province of British Columbia is starting a first-in-the-nation trial decriminalising small amounts of hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin.
From Tuesday, adults can possess up to 2.5g of such drugs, as well as methamphetamine, fentanyl and morphine.
Canada's federal government granted the request by the west coast province to try out the three-year experiment.
It follows a similar policy in the nearby US state of Oregon, which decriminalised hard drugs in 2020

I can’t even get within a 1,000 miles of how the minds of people like these function, particularly when you could actually tell social services that you can’t cope or ask to place the child for adoption.

Start with the fact they regard the baby as nothing more than a piece of their own property, that no one else has a right to... and then, in their drug-addled state, kick, beat and burn the poor child to punish it for crying. Personally, I'd give them natural life in prison.
Why? It’s just a test to make sure a system works. They have it in the US, went off when I was there once for a tornado alert. Might save lives one day.

Apparently they did a similar test in Florida the other day and the thing went off at 4.15 in the morning by mistake.
