How do you not listen to 6 music?
Heathen![]()
Hmmwhat vibe / genre?
Smooth, although it becomes a bit samey so after a week or so I switch to Heart 80's and then back to Smooth. Life is one big groundhog day for me.Ermmm no thanks! Cannot listen to the guy! I used to have radio umberside on all day in my office. I’ve had to turn it off, radio 2 atm. But that’s pissing me off currently.
anyone got any good alternative station suggestions??
Better than 'squeal like a pig', cue banjos.Squeal little pig squeal

I always thought I was pretty well -up on musical genres and vowed that I'd try to keep up with trends as I aged. I can't say I have - so many choices, sub-divisions, etc - understanding them all is almost as difficult as choosing a bloody lightbulb these days!I real mixture tbh, nice & light / chilled
This really should be on the films thread really, but have you seen the Syl Johnson documentary?I always thought I was pretty well -up on musical genres and vowed that I'd try to keep up with trends as I aged. Anyway, not knowing what particular era you prefer and with such a choice of stations it's not easy to know what to recommend. Unfortunately so many are on high rotation that you keep hearing the same songs over and over. If you want oldies try Caroline Flashback - no news on the hour to raise the blood pressure, no annoying traffic reports and minimal adverts. It's online only though (eg smart speakers) and covers 60's to 80's (apologies if you need something more up to date). If you want old and new with a more rock flavour (though not necessarily heavy or exclusively) try Radio Caroline. It's online again, on DAB in various places and on good old fashioned medium wave (648khz). This is my go-to station. Again, no news or traffic.
Because I like different genres I'll tune in to quite a few stations on internet radio and will often listen to some soul/ska/Northern/reggae when I feel in the mood, especially at the weekend with a few pints/ bottle of wine.
I'm sure you'll find something that appeals, though appreciate that it can take time! Good luck.
I haven't tbh but I'll certainly give it a watch. Thanks for the heads-up.This really should be on the films thread really, but have you seen the Syl Johnson documentary?
I’m guessing from what you like to listen to while you drink you’d maybe enjoy it.
Soul rather than ska/reggae but it’s an interesting watch I thoughtI haven't tbh but I'll certainly give it a watch. Thanks for the heads-up.
My lad is tying to get him on his podcast, has his brother Tommy as his first quest. Never heard anything but good things about the lad.Not sure where I should put this….LOVING the interview with our captain Coyle.
Amazing interview, so down to earth, we are very very lucky to have this gentleman at our club
