Trev was actually a little bitter about how he was treated by Bowie, though Bowie called him about a week before he died and he was touched that he'd heard he was ill and was bothered enough to call and have a long chat.

I always thought Bowie was a Bromley lad.

Yes you are correct OLM. I had a friend who went to school with him in Bromley and a quick wiki told me he had moved there after being born in Brixton.

True enough OLM, but Trev could always differentiate between Bowie's talent and genius as an artist and his weakness in avoiding confrontation with the business dealings, which as you well know, was essentially allowing De Fries to run things in a dubious and rather uncaring (and unprofessional) way. Bowie should have done far more to look after those guys in terms of them getting what they were rightly owed, and he knew it. It is something he put right with his later backing musicians.

All true, though I don't think Trev ever quite forgave him for some some of the outfits he was made to wear. <laugh>

A sad loss and a very sad day for music nevermind for his army of fans around the globe. Not a total shock to me as rumours in New York that he was not well started to surface late last year. In some ways Bowie did well to live to 69. A chain smoker for a large part of his life wont have helped I guess. He parting gift is "Blackstar" Saw the video for one of the songs this morning as news broke of his death. Not how I will remember him.

Bowie for me did his best work with the Spiders from Mars. His later stuff was like marmite to me. Glad I got to see him live though despite the fact he always refused to pay that song.....""""THE LAUGHING GNOME""" <laugh>

Goodbye to The Jean Genie, Very much a Rebel Rebel, loved his China Girl, Sound & Vision in the Modern World, Sorrow to Life on Mars.

Time has finally caught up with The Man Who Sold the World not to mention Ziggy Stardust. Your leaving us brings such Sorrow.

From Ground Control to Major Tom

    R.I.P. David Bowie.

Thank you for the memories <applause><cheers>
