People keep saying that he hid that he had cancer for 18 months! But it was well documented that he'd had it! Or do they mean that it had come back worse & untreatable?

I had the honour of meeting Bowie when he and Mick still played together, he was a teriffic bloke who didn't mind talking to you as long as you wanted.
I was gutted when told this morning.

And now Visconti has started the sobbing again. :emoticon-0106-cryin

Blackstar will be a hard listen now, knowing it was a 'final' record and Bowie knowing that himself.

You could argue Bowie is the most influential artist of all time, purely because of the number of genres he made his own an how many artists of different genres have him as a big influence.

Gutted, devastated, and along with The Beatles and Mott The Hoople, Bowie was my personal musical constant and yardstick. He was one of the reasons I became a musician. Oddly his musical influence is partly the reason for what I have done and what I do for a living.

    RIP Starman

I think this interview is even funnier than his part in the show.

No doubt about it, the world has lost a multi-faceted talent. I liked a small amount of his work, although my wife is and always has been a big fan. There is so much being said that I am in awe of the legacy he leaves and how folk adore and respect him; I will revisit his music and writing, as my wife deserves to enjoy her memories of him, we'll do it together.
He was clearly in control, respectful and loving to the end, a rare thing for someone from his profession. RIP David Bowie, you seem to have broken a lot of hearts, but your art will endure, no doubt about that.

Angie Bowie is currently appearing in Celebrity Big Brother and doesn't know he's died, they're pulling her out the house to tell her this morning.
