There's a RIP thread for Gerry on the Blunts SU24 forum...I gather he was a favourite there. Just before my time, but I recall the name. RIP Gerry.
I was going out with a girl in the mid to late 70s and Make Me Smile (Come up and See Me) was our song. Can’t even remember her name now. We did what we wanted for a little while though. RIP Steve Harley
Great singer songwriter. But also by the sounds of it a great person. He did a lot to set up the Mick Ronson foundation.
RIP. Had a football weekend away back in April 1989, Ipswich v City on the Saturday, staying in Great Yarmouth on the night. On the Sunday we were at the Forest v Luton League Cup final, Puss (RIP) was with us, and for most of the time in the car he had ''Make me Smile' on repeat, the daft git cut it short on the 'there ain't no more' line. Even now I still can't hear it without thinking of Puss.
Sad day. Brilliant musician. From massive gigs to seeing him at the old Beverley playhouse and Pocklington Arts Centre. Sebastian, absolutely brilliant.
Former Hull FC forward Charlie Birdsall has passed away. Part of Hull's glorious era under Arthur Bunting, the player made 66 appearances for the club between 1979 and 1981, coming off the bench as Hull defeated Hull KR in the 1979 BBC Floodlit Trophy Final. The Airlie Birds beat the Robins 13-3 that night, with Vince Farrar lifting the little trophy, which resides in the club's St Stephens shop, at the Boulevard. Birdsall, meanwhile, played a key role, scoring the last try after earlier efforts from Steve Evans and Steve Dennison.

Played golf a a fair bit with Charlie until unfortunately he couldn’t find his way . Absolute gentleman , my daughter used to pop in his shop on Hessle Rd a lot from work and him and his wife were lovely , mind you they had to put up with some really horrible people trying to rob him . Made him sell up . RIP Charlie
I've been away and just catching up. Gerry Summers always struck me as a really classy player - top quality. Steve Harley was great, I believe he auctioned off one of his guitars in support of Mick Ronson's memorial and as an added bonus went round to the purchaser's house to give an advisor performance. A greatly underestimated musician. RIP both.
he played Tiffany's in 1974 with Be Bop Deluxe - spent the whole gig complaining about his voice not being right
RIP Mr Nick Hart, consultant plastic surgeon. A man who made a huge difference to thousands of lives, including my own. When he retired he travelled abroad doing free harelip operations, a true NHS hero.
I'm not a RL fan but I know of the importance of the late Phil Lowe to Hull Kingston Rovers. He was a huge player for them and went onto play for Manly in Australia. I met him later in life when he was a publican in Hull's Old Town. Gentleman and an ambassador of Hull. Has my respect and condolences.
