Bullseye legend and darts commentator Tony Green has died aged 85 after a battle with Alzheimer's.

Green was the announcer and co-host of the beloved ITV darts game show from 1982 to 1995.

His death comes six years after fellow Bullseye host Jim Bowen passed away in March 2018 aged 80. The pair worked together on the Sunday afternoon show for 13 years.

Blackberry Smoke drummer Brit Turner has died aged 57 following a battle with brain cancer.

The musician, who was a founding member of the Atlanta-formed group, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer, in late 2022 - with his death announced on Sunday by his bandmates Charlie Starr, Richard Turner, Paul Jackson and Brandon Still and touring members Benji Shanks and Preston Holcomb.

The Instagram post read: 'It is with the deepest sorrow that we inform everyone that our brother @britturner13 has moved on from this life.

The city's own Bullseye legend. 'Listen to Tony'.
Chatted to him in Foredyke pub Bransholme Centre a long, long time ago...

John Vincent Power CBE, known as the 'Godfather of Gigs' has died aged 76.

In 1982 he opened the Mean Fidler in London and subsequently went on to run Leeds and Reading Festivals, along with many others.

Raspberries frontman Eric Carmen, known for his solo hits Hungry Eyes and All by Mysel, has died at age 74.

His wife, Amy, who he wed in 2016, confirmed the devastating news on his website on Monday.

'It is with tremendous sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Eric Carmen,' the newscaster wrote. 'Our sweet, loving and talented Eric passed away in his sleep, over the weekend.

He was a massive fan of Steve Marriot and while fronting The Raspberries, he attempted to sing like him...

weird. never heard of the raspberries and i am fairly well informed on musical history, at least for the period it was any good. perhaps because they were from usaland and had no real impact here. hmmm.

Overnight Sensation was played quite heavily in 1974 but wasn't a hit in the UK surprisingly. His big solo hit (All By Myself) was based on Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto - on YouTube there's a video where he plays the full version live on 'Midnight Special' and it's worth watching as he was clearly a talented pianist.
He didn't realise that the Rachmaninoff Estate held the copyright to the music so had to come to an agreement to pay a percentage of royalties to it.

Saddened to hear this news, some of the older ones like me will remember him playing for us. RIP Gerry

Sad news. I remember Gerry Summers signing for us. Did he come from Sheffield United ? £10k? mid field player, bit of a footballer, also played for Hull Cricket Club at The Circle. Ken Houghton also played in the same cricket team at the time as did Fred Cowell, opening bat if I remember correctly. Fred worked with our YTS/Juniors lads for as long as I can remember.

I remember him playing, and yes, I believe he came from Sheff U. My cousin lives next door to Ken Houghton these days and I asked her a few days ago how he was, and she said general quite well, just not easy to get around, but ex-footballers often suffer from that in later life.
