at least mines slightly serious
Why is there a sell by date on salt
My life is complete now, thank you. It's supposed to be because of the container. If its plastic, the salt can absorb some of the plastics constituents, especially if the salt is exposed to moisture. Also, table salt often has additives, like iodine or anti clumping agents, included which can have expiry periods on them.

Why is there a sell by date on cans of poison?
Basically because the poison can lose potency over time as the constituents degrade. It doesn't necessarily mean it's safe to swallow after the sell by date, it could still kill you and even if you don't die its going to be pretty unpleasant and can leave side effects.

If you aren’t going to take this seriously I will delete it....it was a joke mate
