I said something about a life of service when her husband died a year and a half ago - I feel the same today. I have never been what you would call a monarchist but I have to recognize that those two worked harder than I ever have and the world is a better place for them. I expect I will get used to the name King Charles III in time but I fear we will not see the likes of Philip and Elizabeth again.any time soon. Among her multitude of other titles, was Queen of Canada - RIP Elizabeth II

Ffs what a pathetic statement, obviously said to incite. Does everything have to be about race ? Racist in its own stupidity, by not mentioning Jewish people or Oriental people and others, like there's never been any persecution of those. It was a sad enough day but now to find out someone I idolised on the pitch is an ignorant horrible tool has made it an even sadder day. Lost all respect for the ****. Ffs

As a proud Irish nationalist, for years I resented everything she stood for. That was until she visited our country in 2011 on a state visit and paid us the huge respect of visiting the Gardens of rememberance in honour of all the men who fought for Irish freedom She also acknowledged the thousands of Irish men who fought in the Allied forces in WW1 and WW2 in the British and other Commonwealth armies. She then addressed us in our native language. On that day, my opinion of her changed and I see her as part of the reason we have peace today on this island. She respected us as a people and she respected our contribution when we were part of the U.K. Today, I have the utmost respect for her.

She was a great lady, there is no doubt. RIP your majesty. A sad day for all of us.

Complete arseholes like him are part of the reason it does still exist, idiotic ignorant remarks like this just fuel people who are already racist and does nothing to make them think otherwise. If only people like Trevor put as much energy into going into black communities in the UK and actually getting their hands dirty trying to help solve all the knife crime between black gangs, but no that would mean having to admit there was a real problem in their own communities. Or maybe he could visit the countries in Africa where 1 tribe actually still take members of another tribe and make them their slaves. Oh yes Trevor this does still occur, and not a white man in sight to blame for it. Seriously, people like him make me sick. Ignorant to the core

Queen Elizabeth II was a servant to her country and elsewhere for over seventy years, and never forgot this to the end. She carried out her duties in the background for the entirety of most of our lives. Her selfless dedication to a life of duty will continue to serve as an inspiration to millions around the world.

Absolutely, but....she was also about reconciliation with countries who were ex-members of the commonwealth. She extended the hand of friendship, reconciliation and respect. She was absolutely amazing, agreed.
