Match Preview;
Our visitors on Saturday, Wrexham, have drawn one, lost one and won three in their last five...but the wins were at the start of the year, so they haven't won in their last two league games...plus they drew 3-3 with Nottingham Forest in the cup. Their top scorer is Kieffer Moore, with ten goals so far, followed by Josh Windass with 7. Their manager, Phil Parkinson, has managed three consecutive promotions on the trot, and their fans will be eager to continue the roller coaster ride, and get to the Premier League...where, as we know all too well...rich, famous owners is often not enough.
As for us, I confess I sat and watched last night, against Oxford, but I was happy to half an eye on the game and get some work done at the same time...it was a really dull watch, and just so negative. We can moan about Kone and other strikers not getting enough goals, but he really didn't have much to work with other than long balls that he'd have to win against at least two defenders, then beat those defenders and get a shot away...that is asking a lot for any striker. It did annoy me that we were so negative though, and I'd be interested to see how many touches Walsh had compared to any normal keeper, because the ball seemed to end back at his feet all too often. I'd like to see us at least have a go on Saturday, set up to win and put them under pressure, instead of just turn backwards.
Team news and manager comments to go up asap, enjoy if you'll be at HQ, and as always...
...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
