I’m 57 today. I think I qualify as a dinosaur. Stegosaurus probably.
‘Wingers’ might not stick to the touch line any more, but I think there are plenty of modern wingers around - Shaqiri, Salah, Robben

I said before Staines that I enjoyed meeting up with posters on here before the game than the actual game. Also I agree it was the same for me, I couldn't wait to get home..It became a bit of a chore. To be totally honest, and I’m sure some will slag me off for it, but I’m getting numb to it all now and quite often couldn’t give a **** if we lose.....sad but true, I’m more often looking forward to getting home![]()
How's it going mate, did you start on Monday? I used to really enjoy attending the medical courses I had to do every three years and learning about the human body.
I assume you are becoming a paramedic. Hats off to you mate. Full respect, hope it goes well for you.Yes mate, done my first week and been measured up for my uniform and stab vest (should be getting that next week), then straight to lectures which I’ve really enjoyed though at times got a little lost.
As well as having such fantastic teachers, We are so lucky nowadays that we have the internet as an extra learning tool as help is never far away and making it interactive makes it far easy to get into your head.
I’ve learnt about Cells, molecules, tissue, organs, the Cardio vascular system, the muscular skeletal system, the nervous system, inner workings of the brain, neurons, and how the heart works...amongst other things, as well as getting used to what is where on the back of the van and learning basic life support.
Must say everyone has been great and can’t wait to start again tomorrow.
It’s really been a breath of fresh air to meet such fantastic people.
What you up to Staines. I seen to have missed out here on the info..sounds like a big change of direction... Happy birthday Stan, you're nowhere near a dinosaur yet, 57 sounds almost kindergarten to me...![]()
Happy birthday Jr!All the best SB, you almost share the day with Iwas jnr whose birthday is tomorrow.
oddly I am in much better shape than I was at Brix’s game, which seems a very long time ago, but only because I was terrified into making a few changes. I now only look early 70sHappy birthday Stan. Only 57? Got to say I thought you were in your 60's when we met at Brix's game.
Only joking, of course. I too don't find myself overly caring about how we get on, and rather than putting it down to the current and recent state of affairs, I think it's more to do with being busy with work and home life and accepting that we are not in a false position, i.e. Approximately somewhere between 20 and 40th best in England.
Enjoy your evening, don't overly stress your limbs, heart and joints.

How many people being trained mate, and what’s the spread of age, men/women, background etc. In other words are you the only old git?Yes mate, done my first week and been measured up for my uniform and stab vest (should be getting that next week), then straight to lectures which I’ve really enjoyed though at times got a little lost.

Talking of molecules, I was listening to Richard Dawkins earlier and he mentioned that the relationship between size of nucleus and molecule is like a fly in the middle of a football stadium, and the next molecule would be typically another football stadium. Everything else is simply empty space. Phenomenal.
Good luck Staines.
