Describing Roberts as a ‘goal scoring threat’ is a bit like calling Paddington Bear a dangerous non fictional wild beast.Day after the night before and it doesn't get any better........
Some random thoughts......
If you're going to play a winger like Shodipo on the right you're effectively negating Laird as a full back/wing back as they are operating in the same space....... Same with Chair and Paal on the left.....
If as he did a couple of times, Shodipo beats his man and pulls the ball back there has to be runners from midfield, but with Tim 5vowels and Field loitering around the half way line and Chair wide left that only left Roberts to fill that role, but he was too busy occupying the inside right channel, that's all your goal scoring threat doing other things which left Dykes to take on 3 or 4 Orange shirts on his own........ and we wonder why we don't score........
There were many instances where Roberts could and should have made an effort to get in the box to get on the end of crosses but loitered instead, probably betraying the fact he isn't a striker more than anything.Day after the night before and it doesn't get any better........

Going against two of the contributors I respect most on here but... We lost 3-0 in case anyone hasn't noticed, with two of the goals coming from players not closed down on the edge of the area, so if that's your sitting midfielder doing well then I'd hate to see him having a bad game. But my main beef is with the lack of options Field provides when trying to play out from the back and with the way he believes his off the ball job is to point out the next square ball in huge sequences of negative minded passes to those around him. Agreed that Tim also had a shocker and looked bewildered by the job he was presumably asked to do but faced with a high press you need all midfield players trying to play around it rather than directing the way back to the goalkeeper for 90 minutes.
I'm finding no argument to disagree with you Col.
From what I have heard in his interviews (limited I know) he doesn't inspire confidence in his knowledge of the game or talking tactically. 'we want to play on the front foot' is about as deep as he has gone.

Well it doesn't seem to stop a multitude of clubs overspending without consequence..probably down to smart /dodgy circumnavigating around the rules by smart owners.we have stupid owners who shouldn't be let near a corner shop let alone a Football Club..bet Jim Gregory's turning in his grave.Personal wealth has no bearing on what a club can spend, but then you knew that.........
Let's hope he takes most of them with him#uselessNot Tim's fault he was played in that formation.
Willock was waving as he went down the tunnel as if he was saying goodbye.
My take too, seems a nice bloke..he won't get my 100% support until I see progress, yesterday's formation was catastrophicMy first impression was that he was too 'nice' to take a group of players and put fire in their belly. 100% support but time will tell.
Not I, however ... we should treat our fellow football fans with the respect they deserve.“QPR apologises over offensive message about Luton Town fan”
Did anybody see this message?
The story is on the BBC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-64128326
Sounds like something we should be ashamed of. Embarrassing. We do have some idiots as fellow supporters.
I'm sure there's some nice places in Luton. The odd square foot here and there.I didn’t see it but I did see Luton fans chanting West London is W4NK, W4NK, W4NK and WE HATE THIS 5HITHOLE WE WANNA GO HOME. I thought that was a bit rich, bearing in mind Luton is hardly a utopian Eden.
I also thought they will be a lot quieter going home if our new manager bounce really kicks into play.
The hope never leaves me.

I totally understand what you're saying but Tim's particular style of play actually enforces Cols formation opinion. He can at times look very lethargic and lazy which sometimes contributes to a yellow card. He has an obvious talent that in my humble opinion would suit playing in a 3 man midfield, with the 2 full backs playing further forwards. It would enable us to get him playing further forwards and utilising his talent. The knock on effect of this is player selection and in what positions which is what Col alluded to originally. We could have a decent team if played correctly. When we do it incorrectly we look quite poor.Is it solely a "formation" issue with Tim? Don't get me wrong, he has some great moments as a player (although, disconcertingly, he reminds me of Paul Pogba, in some ways) and could have a great future in the game. But look at his involvement (sic) in Luton's first and third goals. For the first, he lets the Luton player run across the front of the penalty area without making any effort to put a foot in. For the third, he lets his player get on the receiving of what is effectively a wall pass, without making any effort to track him. To me, that is more down to lack of effort, or lack of interest, rather than being down to "formation". He's not the only one, of course, but I think putting it all down to "formation" is being generous to him.
