Describing Roberts as a ‘goal scoring threat’ is a bit like calling Paddington Bear a dangerous non fictional wild beast.
There were many instances where Roberts could and should have made an effort to get in the box to get on the end of crosses but loitered instead, probably betraying the fact he isn't a striker more than anything.
Field is the very, very last thing for us to worry about imo. He and Tim were asked to play in a system that was up against 3 midfield players who were all combative and high in energy. Field has been our best player over and over again.
The situation has really taken a turn for the worse, mainly because NC's starting lineup was absolutely appallinng. I don't think he understands that he has some very talented footballers in the squad, and to just leave them on the bench at kickoff was plain idiotic. It is no wonder that these guys, ignored for the starting lineup, will almost certainly lose real interest in playing for the club. I have said before on here that NC deserves a chance, looks to me as though I was completely wrong? Supported the R's since I was around 11-years-old (seems like a 'zillion' years ago). I don't think I have ever been so despondent as I am nowadays.
Well it doesn't seem to stop a multitude of clubs overspending without consequence..probably down to smart /dodgy circumnavigating around the rules by smart owners.we have stupid owners who shouldn't be let near a corner shop let alone a Football Club..bet Jim Gregory's turning in his grave.
My take too, seems a nice bloke..he won't get my 100% support until I see progress, yesterday's formation was catastrophic
Not I, however ... we should treat our fellow football fans with the respect they deserve. As if being a Luton Town fan wasn't offensive enough.
Does anyone have the opinion that Dykes concentrates on his hair styles more than getting into goal scoring positions. I also believe he is worse than No Pulse Hulse.
The story is on the BBC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-64128326 Sounds like something we should be ashamed of. Embarrassing. We do have some idiots as fellow supporters.
I didn’t see it but I did see Luton fans chanting West London is W4NK, W4NK, W4NK and WE HATE THIS 5HITHOLE WE WANNA GO HOME. I thought that was a bit rich, bearing in mind Luton is hardly a utopian Eden. I also thought they will be a lot quieter going home if our new manager bounce really kicks into play. The hope never leaves me.
Didn't see the message but really crassly stupid. There's always the (remote) possibility it was a Luton fan trying to get us in trouble.
Is it solely a "formation" issue with Tim? Don't get me wrong, he has some great moments as a player (although, disconcertingly, he reminds me of Paul Pogba, in some ways) and could have a great future in the game. But look at his involvement (sic) in Luton's first and third goals. For the first, he lets the Luton player run across the front of the penalty area without making any effort to put a foot in. For the third, he lets his player get on the receiving end of what is effectively a wall pass, without making any effort to track him. To me, that is more down to lack of effort, or lack of interest, rather than being down to "formation". He's not the only one, of course, but I think putting it all down to "formation" is being generous to him.
I totally understand what you're saying but Tim's particular style of play actually enforces Cols formation opinion. He can at times look very lethargic and lazy which sometimes contributes to a yellow card. He has an obvious talent that in my humble opinion would suit playing in a 3 man midfield, with the 2 full backs playing further forwards. It would enable us to get him playing further forwards and utilising his talent. The knock on effect of this is player selection and in what positions which is what Col alluded to originally. We could have a decent team if played correctly. When we do it incorrectly we look quite poor.
