Could any one fully hear the arguement between Ainsworth & Dickie midway through the first half? A bit of finger pointing by both and I'm sure I heard a few F's thrown in. Couldn't hear full verse though, I'm sure the Paddock must have heard. Either way, never a good look.
With Critchley and Ainsworth it’s a perfect case of ‘buy cheap, buy twice’. Warnock would not served up the dross Ainsworth is.
I will not criticise him for this. I went home and had a G&T and a kebab...so don't criticise me either BUT...I will criticise him for the way we played, and how he set up the team I admit it is a little hard for him, with everyone injured, coming back from injury, and dispirited. Starting Adomeh (who will give you everything he has.....but has no speed, and who is not a RB and can no longer play as RWB) seems madness Playing Dunne at RB when Laird is on the bench ...why but I accept that with Kakay and Drewe seeming to be injured...it is touch and go there if Laird is carrying an injury who to play... To only have 2 midfielders, Dozzell who again tries his best...but is desperately lacking) and Field ...against Coventrys 3!!! To play two (TWO) CF who knock it onto the on running midfielders or fast tricky no 10s (Lowe?)...when there are no midfielders running on, is again madness All our midfielders are all back trying not to lose the ball to the Coventry wolf pack We did not need Martin to start (but possibly to take over from Dykes at 65 minutes) We have some really creative players...Chair, Willock, Richards, Roberts, Lowe.....and only Chair started... JUST WHY
I suppose the answer is either that there are factors we're unaware of or incompetence. Hope its the former.
Exactly RTID, I’ll be there watching next season relegated or not, oh & Bob if you don’t want to follow or watch them don’t but don’t keep on about it as it gets boring
To answer your last question Beth. Ainsworths style of play does not require creative players. The game bypasses them with the ball being in the air. It's back to front at the earliest opportunity. It's completely neanderthal and the game has evolved so much that this has become rarer even in the lower leagues.
Would be interesting to know when Ainsworth took his coaching badges and whether they were still working from the Charles Hughes book of football. It's certainly not entertained in the modern game or coaching practices anymore.
The thing is that the executive management of the club must have condoned the introduction of this ‘style’ of play as a last throw of the dice this season or they wouldn’t have appointed him. It’s a deliberate adoption and is being proven to not be working game after game. Whether Ainsworth and his coaches know another way seems improbable. To think that Warnock could’ve been tempted. Here’s a crazy idea… give Brendan Rodgers carte blanche next season to run football operations at the club from top to bottom. Bye-bye Gareth and Les. Brendan can rebuild his reputation and have time. Won’t happen, of course.
Pretty much how I saw it on the TV. Turgid stuff, and painful to relive it through Clives words. We don't deserve to stay in this league. Something is rotten at the club and it needs sorting, but I have no belief in anyone there anymore to change anything. Said at the time that Ainsworth wasn't the right guy, and I'm horrified at what has happened since. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/60055/everything-we’ve-come-to-expect-from-this-team-and-more--report
Well this thread is all joy ain’t it now. If we go down, we go down. If we stay up, we stay up. It really ain’t the end of the world and life will go on and on and on. So all take a chill pill and enjoy what life will bring….it’s all out of our hands anyway so **** all we can do about it. In Gareth we trust x
I wonder what Martin was referring to when he said some players need to look at themselves away from games? An awful lot is wrong at the club.
