I'll always concede to people who actually went to the game, but you can't blame Stroud for that first half performance. We were poor for the 2nd home game on the trot and made Bournemouth look a decent side. They're not, which makes this defeat even more hard to stomach
I wish to call rollocks to that Rusty my arse. Like the cricket team we were the worst team out there
Disagree. I thought we were excellent for the first 30 minutes or so, admittedly without creating any chances. Bournemouth are a good side wirh good players. They're also cheating ****houses. I'm struggling to work out Willock. At times this season he has looked unplayable and a class above this level. However, too often he seems bereft of confidence, takes too many touches and plays backwards and sideways instead of being positive. He must be a confidence player, but you'd think his confidence would be high. Perhaps in the shadow of (imo the over rated) Chair?
I think it's good we have another game in 2 days, we need game time as it showed yesterday, am reserving judgement in the circumstances...shame about dozzell though, thought he looked good when he came on and sometimes okay to play more direct if needed
For me, refereeing aside, I think we should be proud of our team. Man for man, their transfer market value is maybe not even a quarter of Bournemouth's, and yet we were competitive with them. It wasn't a one sided game, like some were saying; we gave them some trouble at several points. We had a few ok chances and defended well on the main. We also largely kept our cool in a game that was out of control. We have a good team. We just had a few things against us, including the fact we haven't been able to train properly or get match time. <----- (non-alcoholic beer)
I honestly don't remember one clear or even half chance created by us last night. Warbs usual excuse is that we play too many games. Now he's complaining about a lack of game time.
There were Col, but none of them were even worth saying as chances Chair shot directly into keepers arms, early doors A long range shot again from chair The melee at the end, bounced back from a player and got caught under Erickson foot via Dykes. (Very like the Man Utd goal yesterday, but our players did nothing with it) So our main glimpses of goal came when Chair was on....After he went off nothing again much happened until Adomeh came on. We were seriously blunt in front of goal...in fact we never really got in front of goal. Yes good marshalling from Cahill and Bournemouth, but absolutely no penetration...none at all
If the tackle by Field was a free kick then why wasn't Field awarded a free kick for the identical challenge by Zemura ( 33 ) moments before?
I know a lot of that was down to the lack of chances we created and how painfully slow we were to get forward when in possession until Odomah came on but... I do think it's time to give Gray another try in the starting line up. Dykes was totally dominated by Cahill and co last night and never looked like finding space in behind. And, as we've seen, Austin just doesn't have the legs for a long stint anymore. If only he can stay onside for a few seconds per half Gray is our best option for situations like last night when pace is important. Unless there is a miracle coming in the January window...
That was the whole point of what we were saying about Stroud. It was very obvious in the ground.. Stroud was giving everything to Bournemouth. Even Terry, the fairest judge in the world, was saying the same. And Field was already on the ground when the Bournemouth player went over him
Don't like fussy Stroud but thought he got the big decisions right last night. It was a clear foul by Field, if not a yellow card, that gave the free kick that lead to their goal. Johansen hadn't reached the ball for that late penalty appeal. Only one I'm unsure of was what to me looked like a Bournemouth hand clear a high ball in their box, but the QPR+ commentators reckon he missed it.
Beg to differ Os........ The Field tackle wasn't a foul as he appeared to win the ball cleanly before the Bournemouth player went over....... As 999's says above, if the Field challenge was judged a foul then by the same standards the one on Field immediately beforehand should be judged a foul, wins ball then player goes over....... As for the Johansen penalty claim, IMO falls into the category of seen them given, he was nudged deliberately off the ball by defender, anywhere else on pitch and that's a free kick......... would have been interesting to see what the decision would be if that had happened at the other end....... Would also have a justifiable shout for Cahill's challenge on Uncs, shoved in back before winning ball, mind very similar to one Dickie got away with against Huddersfield, so maybe evens out...... I'm not sure the Bournemouth player touched the ball with his hand in the same way I'm not sure the San Marino defender touched the ball with his hand against England a few weeks ago........
Ah well, I didnt see anything they give fouls for these days just before Field clattered Lerma knee high over the touch line-that's a clear foul even if Lerma makes a meal out of it. Johansen didn't have the ball, he swung a leg at it to shoot but the defender was there first.
