We did ok today. First half both sides were too cautious but we were clearly defending as a team after the post- Bristol meeting, working hard for each other and rarely giving Barnsley a sniff of goal. Second half was pretty good, mainly due to Scowen who scored a great goal seconds after a penalty shout. As others have said, finishing was dismal, but we deserved to win. Barnsley fans sang about going down, they may be right. Didn’t look like getting back into it even with the extra man.

He’s having a tough time of it, but he’s a good player and we need him. So good luck with the rehabilitation GH.
Come back fresh next season for a better challenge in this league and a new set-up.

It was a solid enough performance, but if it was a brilliant performance we'd have won by 3 or 4. We had the chances and were putting pressure on for much of the game. The brilliance was missing in our finishing, which is what wins games therefore wins points.

The pressure of the match was going always going to close so I see that a extra special performance.

Good result, average performance, puzzling formation. It certainly seemed to be a back four, but whilst Wszolek played as a winger ahead of Perch at right-back, there was no one on the left ahead of Robinson, who consequently played as a kind of wing back, A comfortable win really, with Barnsley rarely threatening - even after Manning's cameo appearance ended - with Lynch's marvellous block denying their closest effort. Good performances from the back four, especially Onouha, but they really weren't stretched by the opposition.

Not the best game in the world but the right result overall. We slightly edged it IMO. I was right behind Scowens shot and it was a peach. Best I have seen at LR this season. MOTM? Lynch by a country mile. Cool, calm and collected. Stopped a couple of nailed on goals towards the end. Work to be done though.Ollie lives to fight another day.

Seems it was 3-5-2. Robinson was at left wing back. I didn't see it so can't say I saw it first hand.
If the centre three were Scowan, Cousins and Freeman I suspect Freeman should have been more to the left but he always drifts centrally.

It's not the first time our formation has looked lop-sided eh?

I definitely thought it was a back four, Col. Wszolek never had to work much defensively because Perch was a conventional right-back. Freeman should have been on the left side ahead of Robinson at left-back, but, as you say, he drifts to the centre. It was indeed lop-sided.

Do you prefer Robbo at LB or CB?

As I said earlier Col it was an asymmetric 4-4-2

Wszolec played in front of Perch, if Freeman was suppose to play in front of Robinson he didn't..
If only our front players could finish, we would have been looking at a (undeserved) 3-0 victory.
I hope Ollie has them practising there 1 on 1 finishing

Asymmetric, that's the word.

The official say it was 3 5 2. Certainly looked it at the start too, with Robinson and Pawel the wing backs.

It really wasn't.

All it needed was for Freeman to not play further left and it would have been a 3-5-2. The official site would have got their info from the manager regarding line-up I presume.

This confusion only highlights one of the problems with Ollie imo. How many times have posters on here argued over what the formation was?

Assuming we manage to stay up this season which looks more likely after today's results, we definitely need to find a goalscorer in the summer otherwise will continue to struggle.
Proven goalscorers cost way more than we'll be able to afford so I suspect it would have to be another punt on a lower league player or hope the young players come good.
