To be honest Col, I dunno if these people who said Henry had a good game, were actually at the same match as me (and PD, who has actually said it pretty much as I saw it) He was pretty poor in the first half and only got slightly better in the second. Still can't condone the shocking display from some of our 'fans' in calling for Henry to be sent off and applauding when he was subbed.....won't help the lads confidence at all, which much be pretty low at the moment.
Do you think that Henry deserves to get in the side ahead of any two from Sandro, Faurlin, Luongo, Toszer and Doughty? I like Ramsey and would love to see him succeed, but he seems to have some kind of death wish with his Henry fixation.
Same thing happened to Hoilett. His confidence was smashed out of him by so called fans. My first choice would be Faurlin and Sandro. But I don't see the players every day like the coaching staff do. Luongo isn't a holding midfielder imo.
I got ****ed by the new manager they finally put in place above me at Cotswold Outdoor in Kingston. I think he hated the fact I knew the store, the customer base and the outdoors in general. No favouritism involved though.
Hoilett deserved all of the little criticism he got and more. How long has he been with us now and for what end product? Watch him have a good run of games now he's realised he won't get 1/10 of his current salary when this contract expires.
Strongly disagree. The ****ers who make up quite a large part of our so called fans destroyed his confidence. Quite pathetic and now many are doing the same to Henry. It's players like Bosingwa who are the only ones who deserve this kind of vitriol.
All three are different situations IMO. Bosingwa was a talented player on huge wages putting in no effort. Hoilett isn't a talented player on huge wages and I can never work out if he's not trying or is just crap. Henry is on relatively low wages, but still crazy money I expect, is crap but the flak is more aimed at Ramsey for blindly picking a player in dire form with so many alternatives.
You only got to see him run with ball to see he is talented. He looks like his confidence is shot playing with us as Col said. Given encouragement from the Support, Ramsey and the Coaches, and the other players ( as Austin did after his goal), maybe we'd see the player he was when we bought him.
It's when he runs with the ball, nine times out of ten straight into the full-back, that you see how lacking in technique the guy is. I'd love nothing more than for him to smash in 20 goals and have a great season but having done next to nothing for over three years, I'm not expecting much. I think it's a myth he was much good at Blackburn based on three or four good goals.
Watford is correct, for me the Henry situation is simply poor management on Ramsey's part. CR doesn't strike me as stupid, he can obviously hear what's going on in the ground etc, so give the bloke a break, stop picking him. Especially don't ask him to play the no.10 role against Bolton(!). A good manager protects his players. For me, Ramsey is failing to do that. It's like with hoilett. He's come on and scored. What happens next is to do with how CR handles the situation. Work with him in training, maybe bring him on last twenty next game, see how he does, then work his way to a starting place. Let's try and give him that confidence back because, I agree with Col, for me there's a good player trying to get out somewhere. We'll see how CR does handle it but I'm not holding my breath.
Didcot get Exeter at home in the first round proper, good that they got a league team, I'll look out for that result.
Yeah should be quite an occasion. They were hoping for someone like Portsmouth away to get a nice pay day. To be honest, they would have preferred a home game against opposition nearer to their own level. They shouldn't get anywhere near Exeter, but you never know!
Anything can happen in the cup good luck Can't believe fans thinking Hoilett is suddenly the answer after poking home a tap in I love Hoilett and have lost count how unlucky he has been with runs and efforts for us Hope he breaks into the team because he is talented The club have purchased players in front of him because at times he hasn't performed. If he gets back in I will will support him 100% because I like him
Live on BT at Noon on Sunday 8th November. Didcot get 67,000 grand for being live on TV. Amazing goings on down at Loop Meadow!!
