Very disappointing afternoon. Smitten with a dose of man flu and nearly decided not to go but double sox, walking boots, six layers and a hat and muffler did the trick nicely.
Entertaining first half with good application from QPR and a couple of near miss headers but overall, as shown by the stats, very little cutting edge.
Second half there was only one team in it until Pavel's fluke goal which at least shut the vociferous away fans up for a bit as they saw the flitting shadow of QPR v Brentford ghost its way pas their keeper. This briefly revitalised QPR but only until 3:1 put the game to bed for Leeds and not undeservedly in fairness.
Sometimes it can be hard to describe why a team is better than another. Probably a combination of individual skill, team awareness, confidence, flair etc. However you describe it, Leeds were the better side and much more so in the second half.
I would love, as an experiment, to give our squad to a top flight manager to see if he can get a better tune out of them than Olly. This would address Olly's competence or otherwise. Give that is not going to happen, I think Olly's days are numbered. I don't think they will want to give him the Jan window if things remain as they are.
On a personal note of confession, having stated I never leave games early, I did leave at 3:1 but I'm claiming man flu in mitigation. The Day Nurse was wearing off and I did not want to have to tolerate the jeering of the Leeds fans. Probably won't ever happen again!
I think we deserve more than we are being served at present. Unless Holloway can turn this around, we could well have a new man by Christmas.
