neither striker seemed to be getting themselves in front of defenders and holding it up, particularly 2nd half. That said the final ball was usually poor or hopeful. We didn't look dangerous at any point, 2 well taken goals for them and morale taking a battering. Thought Robinson played well again, good to see Hall and Ned playing I suppose, that's about it...
It may just be that fighting spirit that will be the difference between another season in The Championship and League 1 football.
I don’t know anything about League One football, but if we are happy to loan youngsters out at that level, perhaps we’d actually play a few of them if we were there too. It wouldn’t be the end of the world, and if the future is scrabbling around at the wrong end of the championship for years, it might actually do us good. The act of relegation will, of course, be humiliating.
First half was pretty even today but two great Leeds moves opened us up and it was game over The players' body language at 0-2 suggested to me that they didn't think we could get back into the match, and there was a lot of finger pointing going on Difficult to see how we arrest our slide into L1 unless at least one of our "strikers" actually starts scoring Next weekend at Bham is a definite 6 pointer
What’s wrong with the world You can’t be relegated in Dec I prefer not to worry at all because that is the worse disease people can catch We are perfectly safe currently This is about taking a loss If and When we are adrift by 10 points in the R zone then that’s the time to maybe worry This league is crazy enough and has made people crazy with it. Leeds deserved the win It is what it is
Col we only deserve to be just in the championship that’s about it We are good enough to stay here without doubt but there is nothing else We are a championship side with OTT debts There is nothing else to go for apart from mid table ... that’s it Perfectly fine about that here We are in no shape to expect more
Please find where I have ever written this season that we should be pushing for promotion or be anything other than a mid-table Championship team. We are rebuilding the club from top to bottom and this will take time and all I want is a mid-table team who won't get relegated. What I am saying is that I don't want to end up in League 1. I think that's fair enough.
Very disappointing afternoon. Smitten with a dose of man flu and nearly decided not to go but double sox, walking boots, six layers and a hat and muffler did the trick nicely. Entertaining first half with good application from QPR and a couple of near miss headers but overall, as shown by the stats, very little cutting edge. Second half there was only one team in it until Pavel's fluke goal which at least shut the vociferous away fans up for a bit as they saw the flitting shadow of QPR v Brentford ghost its way pas their keeper. This briefly revitalised QPR but only until 3:1 put the game to bed for Leeds and not undeservedly in fairness. Sometimes it can be hard to describe why a team is better than another. Probably a combination of individual skill, team awareness, confidence, flair etc. However you describe it, Leeds were the better side and much more so in the second half. I would love, as an experiment, to give our squad to a top flight manager to see if he can get a better tune out of them than Olly. This would address Olly's competence or otherwise. Give that is not going to happen, I think Olly's days are numbered. I don't think they will want to give him the Jan window if things remain as they are. On a personal note of confession, having stated I never leave games early, I did leave at 3:1 but I'm claiming man flu in mitigation. The Day Nurse was wearing off and I did not want to have to tolerate the jeering of the Leeds fans. Probably won't ever happen again! I think we deserve more than we are being served at present. Unless Holloway can turn this around, we could well have a new man by Christmas.
Yep. For the last few seasons we joked that the best bit about the day was the C&S and a good day out was only spoilt by the football. Agreed that at least we seem to be trying now.
We've probably got a couple of years of battling at the wrong end of the table (assuming we don't get relegated) until we finally put the FFP stuff behind us and can really move on. If we keep our expectations low maybe it won't be too bad in the long run, we will have blooded more of the youngsters and the wage bill will be more manageable if nothing else.
The way we are playing we don't deserve to even be in the Championship, we are dire and have been for large parts of the season. We are dropping like a stone and face some tough matches on a downer at present. We have to be one of the worst footballing sides I can remember in the past 50 years, we have no guile, no inventiveness and just give the ball away far too easily. Ollie is frankly clueless as our players are not improving under his 'leadership' and his tactics are from the dark ages, I've had enough for this season...
From my perch on La-la-land I’m not going to panic. I don’t fear relegation because there are easily 3-6 teams that’ll have a worse season than us. I’d be happy with 18th, keep a fair bit of the squad together, bring the youth through some more over the remainder of the season and just splash out on a decent goal scorer and creative midfielder. I have more to say, but Nursey has just turned up with some more tablets...and these you don’t swallow.
With the desire to be happy with 18th in this division, I do not see our best players staying if offers come in from the right places. Which either means much more of the same or certain relegation eventually!
That's it exactly, no guile or inventiveness. We haven't created a shot on target in the last four games in 90 minutes. One versus Derby, one v Preston and two v Brentford, all in injury time.
Very disappointing. After a decent first half where we were probably just the better side, we were well beaten in the end - Kemar Roofe, didn't tEd mention him once? I refuse to join the Holloway must go bandwagon, because I don't think there is any alternative at the moment and I don't believe that we are in any real danger of being relegated. I'm afraid I don't understand those who have stopped going. I'm much happier turning up for this bunch of triers, led (albeit erratically) by someone who passionately cares, than I was for the overpaid wasters assembled by the couldn't-give-a-**** Redknapp.
Not good living in Leeds. Got some right stick from my mates today although I did say before the game that they would put at least 3 past us. Should have put my money where my mouth Is!! I seriously and I mean seriously can't understand anyone on here not even contemplating relegation as a possibility. We are going backwards with poor tactics, poor selctions but most importantly poor results. Forget the team spirit and up for the fight crap. It all boils down to results and points. I'm not happy to be 18th in the league and can' understand anyone that is.
