QPR manager Mark Warburton: "First half I felt we moved the ball too slowly. We were in control of the game but not really threatening them. "Then they nicked a goal, they reacted better to the second phase and we find ourselves 1-0 down. "I was pleased with the second half - it was a far better tempo and we looked a good team. Mo [Odubajo] played a great ball, we get a nice goal and the crowd obviously expect us to go and win the game. "Of course they're disappointed to drop two points at home, but they saw the team on the front foot which is really important." Hull manager Shota Arveladze told BBC Radio Humberside: "We defended well and we had some good chances but give credit to the opponents - they dominated with the ball." "The last message from the doctors is he [Ingram] talked to them, he feels OK and he remembered everything. We'll probably take more time before we think about what's going to happen next." [On substitute keeper Harvey Cartwright] "Brilliant, he did well under big pressure. He did a good job and I want to congratulate him. "Just a day before the transfer deadline we had the chance to loan him out but the coaches were very strong on him staying. Now he got his debut and I believe he's a happy boy, as we are."
Good point overall, still lacking that killer instinct upfront. Tyler Smith practically 1 on 1 and runs it into the corner…oh well! Anyone know what the Big Bang was in the away end?
When you do wrong no one forgets, when you do right no one remembers. He did a lot more right than wrong.
Tbh we've been blessed with good keepers during my time supporting them and I'm sure before that too, from the days of Mckechnie through Wealands, Fettis, and Norman to the likes of Myhill et Al recently, so it's understandable the Jak isn't held in such lofty heights, but I can't quite recalling any of those afore.mentioned keepers feigning an injury because they'd fkd up royally. He did well in the latter stages of his time here but didn't he leave to warm a bench elsewhere too ?
Think they mentioned something to do with a hamstring twinge, but not a lot has been said about how bad it is.
Wish I’d put money on it, good point away from home. Although we continue to concede poor goals, as good as some on here rate our back 3, they continue to let poor goals in. Again not much going forward, so with this squad any point away from home is a good point
Blimey that's harsh. Occasionally the opposition will score. Back 4 were excellent as back 3 have been most weeks.
Think we have to be realistic at times, teams are gonna create chances, and for the most part we've defended well over the last 3 games but that's why these players aren't plying their trade at the very top of the game, they make mistakes or switch off at times. It's a work in progress, we all know that, this season the aim is to stay in the Championship, look to invest on more quality in the close season and hopefully press on from.there, but the early signs are good .. Shota is definitely making a difference, he has us working as a unit, and generally more organised. Keep the faith.
One thing Grant never did in his first season and for large parts of this one is what we are currently seeing from the team now. Opposition have to be on their game to beat us as we are a very hard side to break down for 95% of the game. All too often this season and the relegation year teams seemed to be able to beat us without getting out of 2nd gear. Now teams are looking back on the chances they create thinking **** we might not get another one like that. Very confident in us staying up, hopefully Allahyar back for the next 2 as a player like that could be a difference maker against opposition like that.
Ah the old "Jak apparently faked an injury routine so he was obviously ****". He didn't, there was a legitimate injury concern and he was hurt so he came off, hence why he went off in a neck brace. He kept three consecutive clean sheets prior to that. He was our main choice of goalkeeper under Marco Silva, over David Marshall who cost us a few million quid. He then went on to have a really good end to the season, making crucial saves against the likes of Ibra, Ozil and Pogba. Oh, and then he was so terrible Leicester bought him for £3m. As far as goalkeepers go, he might not have been the most conventional, but anybody scoffing at signing a player like him for two games against teams in the relegation zone has the footballing nous of a brick.
No, as you say we can't, but if we could, it'd be a wise move. David Button at West Brom isn't getting a game, maybe Brucie can do us a favour and hook us up.
Usually about 4/5 weeks for a broken finger isn’t it in Baxter’s case. Would be wise to go for the emergency loan given the importance of the 2 games this week. FC may have done us a favour on the pitch today Surreal seeing Cartwright play today though, he was at Grimsby Town with me when we were 12 and he was the best outfield player as well as the goalkeeper was destined for big things there
