Tbh we've been blessed with good keepers during my time supporting them and I'm sure before that too, from the days of Mckechnie through Wealands, Fettis, and Norman to the likes of Myhill et Al recently...
I loved McKechnie as did pretty much every fan in those days, but you've got a very rosy view of history to put him in that list of good keepers. Watch some old footage of goals against us, he was not a strong keeper and very rarely was he the better of the two goalkeepers on the pitch whoever we played. Great bloke though.

I’m interested to know when Allahyar will be fit for selection. Think Longman needs a rest.
I know this is heresy and I'm sure being burnt at the stake is going to sting, but I think Honeyman might be at risk of being swapped out for Allahyar. I don't think the present formation suits him as much, and he's been mostly below par since the new manager came in. Nothing wrong with his effort yesterday, but the game largely passed him by and when he did get the ball he generally wasted it. OK, I'll go and get some firelighters.

Surely Allahyar is a striker and not a box to box midfielder.... so lets just hope its heresy...

I think a few players could do with a rest, just because of fixture congestion. Fleming was rested against QPR despite being one of the best players in the games since he came into the team. George has a shoulder injury that is causing him a lot of discomfort. I think Longman could do with a rest.

Not sure of the relevance of a box to box midfielder, since that's not what Honeyman is nor the role that he plays. He was previously a very advanced 10, at times almost a second striker. Now we're playing 4-2-3-1 and he's a more conventional 10. The manager will know more about Allahyar's capabilities than me, but he's looked hard working and good on the ball in his brief cameos so far so he might work in that role. Given that Arveladze favours 4-2-3-1 and they've clearly brought in Forss as the lone striker, I wonder if he wants Allahyar stuck out on the wing.

Me too, he was a good kicker of the ball, started as a winger at Arsenal, but then turned to keeper early on.

Usually about 4/5 weeks for a broken finger isn’t it in Baxter’s case. Would be wise to go for the emergency loan given the importance of the 2 games this week. FC may have done us a favour on the pitch today:emoticon-0127-lipss

Surreal seeing Cartwright play today though, he was at Grimsby Town with me when we were 12 and he was the best outfield player as well as the goalkeeper was destined for big things there

Harvey looks really promising, he's a big lad at 19 being 6'4", commands his area well. I wouldn't be opposed to playing him Tuesday.

Agree totally JEX.... the other lads have stepped up and with the defence looking solid against better teams than Barnsley or Peterborough, they should give him all the protection he needs... maybe the concern should be the back up for him in the very short term...

the only thing funnier is West Brom taking him on and letting them bring in Junior as their coach - what's he going to tell them, if the ball comes anywhere near you, hoof it

5th to 11th since he went there. Bet Steve can’t wait for the next international break. Nice holiday to Barbados, Portugal or Dubai.

I think they have to bring in an emergency loan, but whether he plays or is on the bench, I guess will be up to debate.
