Hope 'carrabuh' reads this - especially the reference to "Mark Hughes' plan to recruit enough Premier League experience to attempt to ensure survival is evident but by no means fool proof, and in addition QPR have added considerably to their wage bill this summer. It is a particularly disappointing approach from Hughes, who remarked after leaving Fulham that "as a young, ambitious manager I wish to move on to further my experiences." Signing ageing players on high wages in a bid to simply survive, looks like anything but 'ambitious'."!!!!

Wow the reporter is as dumb as dumb gets. OUR wage bill is less than last years we have spent a net transfersof 1.5 hardly big spending is it? These reporters just assume things without actually having any facts. Which leads other fans to believe this bunch of rubbish.

The last one is just terrifying (and very surprising, I bet none of us expected that, I honestly thought they had 6 or so not 19!) 19 thirty+ year olds, how many do we have besides Holt?
 
Once again paper talk like we are in debt? We have 0 debt when will people learn the papers har know clue what goes on. Our old board would have gave te players a huge pay rise for getting promotions we have now released or sold 15 players. Tony has already announced to various radios sky ect that our net spend this window is 1.5 mill with our wage bill being lower than last year.yet we don't see any papers reporting this In there articles? Did that article add as well the 40 mill tv moneys last season and the next 70mil of we stay up? Of corse we are losing money well most likely but didn't Chelsea lose 80mill last year or the year before actually Chelsea and man city have been losing money for years and years since there owners have taken over.

So what you're saying is that you're happy with the signings your club has made this summer and you see absolutely no problem in having 19 players on your books over the age of 30, all earning wages far higher than they are actually worth to your club on the pitch, all no doubt costing a pretty packet in signing on fees as well and with absolutely no sell on fee for any of them in the future.

Is that what you're saying? I just want to make sure I've got this right <ok>

Are you really saying you don't owe any money to anyone? Not even bank loans etc? I'm pretty sure you are in debt somewhere, although I'm sure it is been managed for now.

Long story short... we have a lot of money. We have very rich owners with very big ambitions and I guess we are all coming to terms with that.
These people who are in control are all winners and like it or not we will be aiming high regardless of who is playing or managing us. You may laugh but it's happening and QPR will become a global brand whether we like it or not ... for sure it's out of control but we will consolidate our status I am certain and I imagine we will be buying a new team each season ... is that good? Not really but its a fact that you will need these assets to even compete in this league in the next five years ... tell Delia to sell a few more books

DT, do you believe that 100% from what you actually know or is this a belief because this is what the board have said is going to happen?
I am open minded about it all, it could happen but only if good things happen on the pitch but it could also so easily not happen.

BRILLIANT - Boy am I glad Delia and co told TF that we were not interested in his money, even if it means we will get relegated. I and I'm sure the majority of the 22,000 season ticket holders will still be turnig up for home matches regardless of which league we're in. Given the option of a club 'living within its means' or being given large amounts of money by a benefactor, I know which I'd prefer every time!! <cheers>
 
i don't particularly want to get in a slanging match with r's fans over this like usually happens, but from my perspective the qpr model won't work. yes their backers are very wealthy (not fernandes, the mittals) but the CLUB still are in debt TO THEM. just cos its not a bank doesn't mean they don't owe anyone! they are in the same position as ipswich are in relation to their spiralling debts. it could go either way - they could end up doing well and staying up season after season and building on it, though i somehow doubt they can become a global brand or even be successful on the pitch long term, ie winning major trophies. many clubs have tried and failed going down this route. the two who haven't are chelsea and man city. the difference here is that both those clubs were very big, albeit underachieving clubs before they got the investment. qpr are not a big club and never have been. i doubt they ever will be. i don't like clubs being run this way - it is doomed to fail at some point in the future but if qpr fans don't care then that's up to them - i wouldn't want ANYONE doing that to my club. i'll support them no matter what division they play in - it shouldn't be down to how well a club does as to whether fans keep turning up. as a percentage i'd give qpr a 0.1% chance of becoming a major force in european football, a 5% chance of winning things domestically and 50% chance of it all going tits up within five years. i don't like those odds myself...

Thats all well and good and if you think it will work fair enough. All I said was you club is in debt, which I am 99.99% sure it is, almost all clubs are. Anyway time will tell on your clubs fortunes.

I disagree actually, I think 0.1% that they will become a major force in European football is wildly optimistic.
I'd say it's more like 0.0001%
