So Charlie how many of the gazillion fans that watched us play Hollywood are going to return - get your priorities right for f*ck sake I’m done - wake me up when he and Jones have left
Shame on Dubai Addick & the Global Moderator - his two biggest cheerleaders in the forum fanbase. A “direct line” to our boardroom, don’t forget
Charlie Methven is the No.1 problem at the club, along with Rodwell & Scott. No manager will succeed in this set up. The player budget is nowhere near sufficient, and the recruitment & scouting remain atrocious. The buck for both stops with the CEO. A very small & unrepresentative handful are taken in by his visionary podcasts, I have listened to one and he repeatedly claims it possible to basically get promoted without spending, but by focusing on peripheral stuff. Anyone who watched the Sunderland documentary could see that he’s an award winning bluffer & fantasist, who should be let nowhere near another football club. It is inconceivable that we will progress for as long as this clown is here.
The bottom line for me is that Douchbag and mouthall ripped the soul out of our club. The day ESI bought the club for £1 has had seismic consequences. A black day in our history. A joyous day for Roland, and if it wasn’t for TS a lovely day for ESI., As a result we can't attract serious owners. Our problems go back even further, but those two were/are happy to see our club go to the wall, and that's not true of the 2 owners of the club since.
If only there were posters on ITTV allowed to call this apologist waffle out. Even slippery Charles Methven has said many times that it is his role to update the investors on what is going on. They are naive and football -clueless chancers, who have been sold a pup by CM that he can make them a fast buck at CAFC. Does anyone seriously (no pun) believe that he’s dialled Freidman & Co this week and said “sorry, old boy, it’s all turned to s hit , I need another £8m off you”. That’s our problem in a nutshell - nobody at the club willing or capable of telling the Investors the truth, that truth being that without a massive re-think and substantial investment in January 1. We are f ucked 2. They have done their money.
Ridiculous and his views are not worth a w***, he knows this, he's THE wum, Sams is just day release so can give a little slack.
The prime Apologists are pathologically bent on justifying and normalising every disaster and farce that CAFC managers create. As though even the feeblest explaining away of incompetence and dishonesty makes it somehow OK. Look at where we are, compared to even 10 years ago. Never mind 20. And to read their wittering, a gormless soul might think there was nothing wrong.
The club has got no future in the third tier of English football. Youngsters don’t want to pay to watch low quality hoofball, when they have 5/6 PL clubs within easy travelling distance. Every season we remain in L1, the club shrinks just that little bit more. It will be a disaster for the club if all that’s left are the ageing geeks & nerds, who go because they want to escape the wife’s nagging on a Saturday afternoon for a couple of hours. Without promotion - that’s where we are heading. Normal / ordinary fans don’t want to pay Methven £30 plus to watch this awful football.
The owners must realise by now that the SMT are hopeless, and their plan isn't working. I assume they're all successful businessmen, and it won't be long before they either bale out or sack the SMT and find someone who knows what they're doing.
It could turn messy though, if I have understood correctly and lots of people own little slices of the Club. Maybe I'm wrong about that. I hope so...
We know Methven owns about 0.01% of the club himself. He invested £75,000. The club isn’t worth £50m, or anything remotely like it. It’s worth v little other than Miles Leaburn’s contract. Who else have we got who would command a fee ? Ramsey maybe.
Balance that against the liabilities of poor players and manager on long contracts, most of whom any serious buyer would want rid of. Our history of recruitment is diabolical, what with Driesen, the embargo, Martin Sandgaard, Andy Scott, then the Luton Old Boys. Crunch time looms.
Exactly, the club has no security / assets apart from a lease with a Belgian guy we know hates us, and a squad that’s barely worth a carrot. It’s a sad return to the mid 80s in many ways.
