No to Nike, I think they've lost all imagination with their shirts!

Puma's sponsor is shocking but I don't mind the badge - I regularly play football and run in my footy shirts and there is nout worse than playing in the freezing cold with a badge that's sharper than Jimmy Carr rubbing against your nipples!
Puma do nice shirts, just for us other clubs it seems!

This. Nobody likes a nipple rash from a football shirt.

Put vaseline on your nipples and this will solve the problem. (sounds like a sex-advice forum!!!)

On the subject of Puma and this new 'Newcastle United' + Sports Direct sign on the top of the stadium... wasn't there supposed to be a Puma logo at each side of the SD ones? What has happened to this does anybody know, or was it just a load of **** to sooth the fact that he's put that ****e over another part of the stadium?

Does anyone know if ****eDirect.com are paying for advertising on our stadium?

As Ashley and Llambias bang on about the club having to support itself financially, surely they would not deny the club an important stream of revenue?

I don't think that was ever actually stated, and in fairness its not going to look better with more rubbish up there.

What struck me for the first time at the weekend wasn't the number of SD logos around the place, but the lack of anything else. Are we losing sponsors or does Ashley just prefer to stick another SD board up instead of taking money in. There's the odd Barclays one, but the likes of Collingwood Insurance (obviously I'd notice that one...) etc have completely vanished.

I thought this too. Its strange because surely there is more money to be made from additional sponsors than he would take at SD as a result of yet another board? Bizarre. Maybe they are looking to oust some of the sponsors ready for a big name to tie in for a number of years. Or maybe its to do with him wanting to sell, strip it back so that it gives any prospective buyer the option to do things their own way. Would be very appealing to many buyers, and would allow us to try and do a Man City and flout the finance fair play rules!

Who knows!

Would love Nike or Adidas but can't see either of them coming in for us unless, we finish Top 8 minimum. Didn't Adidas stop associating with us due to Ashley? As long as we get rid of iron on badges I'll be happy.

I think all the SportsDirect logos around the stadium will be for the Olympics... SJP will be a "Soccer" venue for the games and MA will be plastering his brand everywhere ready for the global audience... Whether he then takes more varied sponsors after the games or not, we'll have to wait and see - He may just like the look of it and keep it as-is, or start taking payment from other businesses

I don't see why Ashley would use one of his own brands, better to get a few hundred million from another company, than draining the finances of one of his own for a little advertising.

I wouldn't mind Umbro to be honest, like the look of the England kit this year and the Hearts one is lovely.

Using one of his own brands means sports direct makes a shirt for a quid and sells if for £35 versus Nike/Adidas making them for a quid and then selling them to sports direct/Newcastle for a fiver. Also is olympic advertising not similar to world cup advertising in that its limited to approved or selected organisations?

I think due to our ties with Sports Direct. Donnay or Dunlop or Slazenger may be the way to go....or maybe Gola!

I could properly live with Gola. Seem to remember them as a Hi-Tec esque naff brand from my school days, but they have knocked out some classic trainers. Dunlop Green Flash are spectacular too!

Apparently the new Nike Barca shirts more than double their weight during the match with sweat and makes the players feel like they're wearing clingfilm. I wouldn't want the football shirt slowing Shola down.

And its the worst looking Barca shirt in decades...
