Puel under pressure?

Why aren't you judging him on yesterdays game where he seemed to change his ways? Didn't the players that were hugging and hi fiving him at least seem to like him?

Not sure why you aren't judging Pearson on his only season in the Premier League where for 3/4 of the season where we were rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and he going a bit mental swearing at our own fans and attacking opposition players?

As for Puel's interviews, I would 100% prefer some boring statement over headlines about him calling journalists ostriches and the like.

Also according to other fans we won a very poor Premier League - does that diminish our achievements?

Because his form says he will go and change everything for the next game. High fives mean naff all. I judge him for what he has done since day 1. Not because he had really good day or a bad day. Overall he isnt good enough. Most fans want him gone and 1 win doesnt change that. You've got a very pessimistic view mate - don't let your distaste of Puel ruin what was a good day for us yesterday where we beat a team that have been unbeaten for a long while at home by playing well.

This could be the start of something good - if he does resort to type in the future then he will be out on his ear and very likely will be at the end of the season irregardlessly so just keep that in the back of your mind.

I’m sceptical we’d have drawn Burton, warm balls and that. If the final 4 were us, Burton, Chelsea and Spurs, us and Burton would definitely have been kept apart....

I'd disagree he was having a mental breakdown more that he was pi$$ed of being asked stupid questions again and again, which i can understand. Unfortunately for NP it was part of the job. I think he was surprised at the level of scrutiny in the Premier League compared to the Championship.

Yes but he took the pressure off the players and as a result the players loved him for it. He kept the spirits high despite losing. Would Puel have kept their spirits up? Maybe, maybe not.

I liked Pearson’s approach most of the time. He definitely created a siege mentality and imo journalism is up there with the scummiest professions. No time for them at all. The thing with McCarther was more concerning.
I also think Ranieri and Puel handle it well. Shows there is no right or wrong way to be with the media

What does Puel have to do with anything here? I didn't mention him at all in my reply to you yet somehow am "aggressively defending" him from something?

If there is any aggressively defending, it is from you about Pearson as you seem to have an answer for all of his actions - so you think that his actions are all excusable and befitting a manager of our club? Did Mourinho and Fergie have to make a grovelling apology as Pearson had to do afterwards as he was on thin ice and nearly fired by our owners for that nothing "play fighting" with an opposition player?

Since you seem to have cast me as a Puel fanboy for some reason I will try to help you to work out where I am coming from:

We were absolutely awful the vast majority of the great escape season and pretty much got outplayed each game after the Man Utd win and before we finally clicked vs Spurs. Pearson would pick a different team each game with different tactics and lose much more often then not but I personally gave him the benefit of the doubt as it seemed that progress was being made and was vindicated at the end of the season.

I see the same thing now but we are in a better position then we were back then - why are you "aggressively attacking" Puel all the time and not giving him the same benefits of the doubt you gave Pearson when we were in a much worse situation then we are now? If it is irrelevant to you that we were bottom then and only the final position matters then why can't you apply that to this season?

Your love for Pearson is as irrational as your hatred for Puel - you really have no memory of that season but the last month do you? We were bottom of the table for 6 odd months - no matter how you try to spin it, it wasn't due to bad luck.

Everyone could see what Pearson was trying to do? He must have used a dozen formations and tactics throughout the season trying to figure out what the hell he was doing. Do you think that one fan swearing at Pearson was just a one off? People were clamouring for him to be sacked as he had no clue whatsoever how to win games.

I am tired of arguing with you over pointless things. I will support whoever is in charge as I do not like chopping and changing managers as I lived through that in the Manderic era - I supported Pearson when he was in charge but now he isn't I have no need to defend him at all.

While our owners want Puel is our manager I will support him - when he isn't then he can go **** himself as I am first and foremost a Leicester City supporter.

You both want the same end result, just like all of us do, and it is very frustrating when one of the best squads - at least on paper - we have ever put together just isn't getting the success it looks to be capable of. Towards the end of last season after suffering a long run of poor results with Claude Puel was refusing to alter the formation or the style we play, he then came under the threat of the sack.

Then suddenly he changed both the formation and style of play and we started playing well again picking up some good results and Claude saved his job!

This year I have never been so depressed and bored with our poor style and performances during games from our team and once again Claude was refusing week after week to change anything we were shocking. Then once again Deja-vu he came under threat of the sack and once again and in a last ditched attempt to save his own backside he finally changed things around with a new formation and style of play and we beat Chelsea away and we look so much more like a proper team.

Now the big if……..is Clueless Claude going to have a light bulb moment about play the way that suites our team and play to our strengths and helps the players to show off their ability’s or once again when he has saved his job we will return to the dross we have all had to put up with earlier on this season.

One can only keep our fingers crossed!

I couldn't agree more ,surely a decent manager would adopt a style of play that suits the majority of his squad and not persevere with his own idea's when they so obviously are not working

Disagree with the above few comments. The club is bigger than the current/title winning players or any manager. If we carried on the low possession backs against the wall stuff it wouldn’t be sustainable. Puel has clearly been tasked to change the club way. He’s bringing in players to do that but it doesn’t happen overnight even for big clubs and big managers such as Man City and Pep and Liverpool with Klopp. The club is in good shape at the moment.
I agree we need variation to our game but to let the players rule the roost is wrong.
