Anything to do with the Graveney Boat Mystery?
A cargo boat found in 1970, thought to have been sunk around 1000 years previously whilst carrying a cargo of hops - around 400 years before hops were used in brewing in England.
That's it, BB...that and Tom Graveney of course. No-one is really sure whether it shows hops were used in brewing earlier than was thought or whether they were being imported for some other unknown purpose.
