What big progress is that?

I assume you mean the works at the academy?

As one example let's say the transfer dealings, another is the way the Diamond affair has been handled, another is the way we've brought in so many young players, some foreign, with no reports of trouble or embarrassment for the club, there's the USA tour, etc etc etc....

... compared to the last decade it's a massive difference.

Which pretty much everyone acknowledges,

The off field Commercial operations, customer services etc have if anything got worse.

well the designs got signed off at the start of December and they were clearly measured up to fit so someone at the club passed it off,
no chance they just turned up and started doing it and if the try and say that it's insulting the intelligence of sunderland fans,

if no one is gone in the next week or 2 KLD new about it

You can design something then print something else.

People keep saying that and ignoring the big progress that has been made tbh.
has it though can't get intouch with the ticket office,
club shop has been a nightmare, the way the mags game has been handled has been a nightmare

only reason the club shop opened with more hours is because of backlash from the fans

stadium is a mess apart from corporate, which to be fair has had a canny bit of money spent on it

toilets are a mess, speakers in the east stand half the time don't work, which is asking for serious problems if the is ever an emergency .dryers aren't working in the east stand in the toilets,

it's little stuff that would make a massive difference

I think people are talking about the business side of the club when mentioning being concerned about the off field operations. From personal experience the ticket office is a shambles and the club shop both online and in person is just a big mess. As @Chunksafc mentions we need to be making as much money as possible through multiple revenue streams to comply with FFP and the club seem to be neglecting the fact if the club produce good products and make it possible to buy them, such as the recent retro avec range, the fans will buy it.

People love to think that bleating on forums makes the club jump, they never think the club might actually be trying to improve things.

The derby was a massive logistical issue and easy to criticise.

We couldn't simply deny them a reasonable FA sanctioned allocation, couldn't put them all in the Premier level, couldn't allow Sunderland in the BCB, couldn't make the BCB staff wear Sunderland regalia, etc etc etc.

And yes, areas like the corporate areas have had investment and other areas have been quoted for ...

... it can't all happen at once, we're a lower league side and miles ahead of many other clubs.

the club shop got sorted cos all the fans group got together and said the were sick and got intouch with the club about it, which they had to come and and make and apologise for it,

and sorry but if it takes you 3 years to fix a speaker when it has massive health and safety issues when it's not working, that's should be first priority when you come in before anything else if sat in east stand now for twenty years and over that's last 7 years the speakers have got worse and worse to the poin the don't work some games

No he said the off the field operation hasn't improved, which most take to be the commercial operations.

Yes, that's precisely what I quoted him on.

He said,
"off field stuff he seems to have no interest and it needs sorted, he employed the people and for 2 years now it hasn't improved at all."

I responded with off field examples, nothing on field at all.

That's what you believe, doesn't mean it's true.

I've never had a problem hearing announcements and there's a massive screen for emergency issues, not to mention all the stewards and police. If there's an emergency the players would leave the field, the gates would open and no one would have a problem with vacating the stadium if directed by the stewards.

No one died at Roker Park and all we had was a scoreboard with planks of wood.

You know fine well the poster was talking about the commercial operations, he's even clarified it in later posts

you can't even hear the team being announced sometimes it's just all mumbles and if thes a fire or anything serious going on, and the fans can't hear instructions in the east stand the club will have big problems on the hands

Wouldn't disagree but it's massively small time to have a PA system that hasn't worked in years
