I was thinking, you know how some forums get anal about putting links to stories up, We should link our own newsnow articles on these forums!
I guess if Autosport, etc, are going to be running articles on the new cars, they'll probably get a lot of hits from people desperate for an F1 fix. If we could leave comments, maybe they'd be interested in joining us?
I created a YouTube account for us: www.youtube.com/Not606F1 So if we're discussing a certain incident or talking about a certain moment to support a particular argument, we can upload any necessary video. This should also bring more visitors to the site and hopefully some of them will sign up. Send me a PM if you want the password. I hope the first video isn't blocked
During the next GP.. we could all be trending not606 on twitter.. collect all twitter addresses off important people in F1 and spam their profiles.. that should bring a few new people
BLS has the right approach to Twitter - posting links to original threads and including the #F1 hashtag. We could all tweet a link to the main race discussion during practice sessions and the race, using #F1, #bbcF1 and #skyF1. Spamming is just bullying.
The Twitter idea is a good one; especially Genji's idea above. On a more domestic level, one of the best ways of promoting a forum is to keep it neat and tidy by getting rid of any obvious garbage as soon as it appears. After a while, people usually stop such careless vandalism. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it seems to stick to one's shoe far too long here…
I think more could be done to get people on this forum to use the F1 board, I am a bit more of a lurker than a poster nowadays and I bet theres a few more like me, the thing is I love F1 and always have done but technically I know next to nothing regarding mechanics and things like that so threads like that are a no go for me in terms of commenting
