As a Spurs fan I enjoy the mixed bag of teams we play in the PL every year plus I enjoy playing other English teams.

Would get boring very quick I think...plus what’s the reward for winning the European Super league? European competition already has its position in the football pyramid...it already sits at the top as the ultimate level of club football. This is just all about making more money through worldwide TV deals...not one iota of thought has been taken on behalf of the football fan.

who’s going to the Away games? think it would destroy the soul of the game for a lot of fans...I hope to God we don’t ever do this.
Good point on away support.
The problem for Spurs will be that if it happens we literally can't afford to not be in it. But we are also not in the group of 6+ clubs who will be the main movers.
Very tricky for us.

Not really. Just vote them out.
They want to stay in the Premier League and turn it into a second division, while grabbing as much cash as possible in the Super League.
The remaining teams should just vote them into oblivion. Out you go. Bye. You lose.

Only one of the teams will be champions. If they are kicked out of their national leagues some teams will have a very long wait for a title, maybe even longer than thirty years. What will the entitled fans think about that?

The big reward is being in it.

Those that are scheming on this IMHO have the NFL as their model.

UEFA are already part of the way there with the group stage + ranking points sh*te
(designed to ensure certain fixtures each season + "usual suspects" clubs
ever present at the "business end" of those tournaments) .

And Figo knows all about loyalty and unity. <ok>

I agree, but there are laws against restraint of trade that might stop that. It's very risky for us not being part of it, especially if its only a tactic to get UEFA to make changes.

They want to join another league and they're free to do so.
That's not restraint of trade any more than stopping Celtic and Rangers joining the English pyramid is.

Hmm
I expect Rangers and Celtic would win a court case if the Scottish or English FAs tried to stop them. What they can't have is an entitlement to join. But if Liverpool were expelled from the PL because they joined a European competition not run by UEFA I think a court would overturn the decision to expel them. No one was expelled for playing in the Intercity Fairs Cup for example. Nor for playing friendlies. How can a series of matches played against other clubs be grounds for being expelled?

Because they'd be joining another league.

Schedule prem gsmes on tge szme days as the Euro league...they coild then be expelled for not completing fixtures.
No difference to Orient being effectively expelled from this years Caribou cup

Worth a watch, in my opinion.
Very interesting to see two of Sky's most popular pundits writing off the £14.95 charge, for a start.
Neville makes some good points about the structure of the game, too.
