They really didn't at all. It was shifted across once and then wide or forwards in most cases.

You must see the difference in the past two games surely? We're far more brave playing out from the back than previously - where the ball would casually go from LB, right across one by one to RB, then all the way back again, sometimes to GK etc, always in front of our goal... It just went up the pitch so slowly. NOW we're only playing sideways when we're camped in their half, looking for a way through. The difference being we're going all the way back to GK from those positions a lot less.

If you say so.

This...

I can feel the supposed racism dissipating out of me because I don't like it when our CBs spend half the game passing it back and forth to each other.

In possession I thought Greaves did well from this point of view. He didn’t turn back inside very often and looked for Philogene’s feet or Delap over the top - thought this was a good point of attack last night.

MO seems the type of buffoon that no campaign group should have, he'd set there aims back by years and do harm to their cause.
Abridged version, I see the daft **** is still desperately looking for things that aren't there.
I was going to suggest the mods remove his stupid posts on here
But thankfully the board appears to have agreed he’s a fuxking idiot
So maybe better to keep them and show how much of a **** he is.

Strangely SydTiger appears to agree with him by the looks of it, no idea where either of them are coming from.

He is not the only one to do that.

Jeez, you are posting some absolute crap MO, it's uncalled for and out of order imo.
I can only assume you were drinking last night?
As an aside, I don't even think of Rosenior as black. Out of order from you even bringing it up.
As for women (let's leave it with that term rather than your ridiculous immature description), if you were listening to that 'commentator' on Sky last night, you would probably have felt compelled to comment. She was absolutely attrocious. I don't care who commentates (within reason) so long as they are there on merit, not simply to tick boxes or whatever.
Infact, I'd actually quite like watching Alex Scott commentating on our games (there you go, all your ridiculous accusations shattered in one go).
Maybe time for some apologies now you've sobered up.
ps great post Benjo.

It was Robyn Cowen commentating. She's probably the most successful female commentator. She's a match of the day regular and does all the England ladies games for the BBC. Surprised to see her being criticised.

I've no idea who she was (or what age or colour she was!!!:emoticon-0105-wink:) but honestly she was dreadful. Long spells with literally nothing said. She would start sentences then have a long pause before finishing off what she was saying. It was like the sound had gone or there was severe buffering (except there wasn't). She added next to nothing when she did talk. Desperately needed a co-commentator to dig her out. Easily the worst I've ever heard.

Syd mentioned it but there really is a lot of outcome bias. When we win, people say we played better, it was higher tempo and so on. When we lose people say it's because we faffed about, went back to the keeper, and so on. But look at the recent games and it should be absolutely clear how fine the margins are. We scored two goals yesterday that were nothing to do with passing or tempo, just individuals doing well in key moments. We created lots of other chances through good moves but wasted them. If Delap and Philogene hadn't scored their goals then the team wouldn't be getting all this credit for playing great football just as they never do when they play the same good football but don't finish enough chances, which has happened a lot.

There will be a game soon, maybe Saturday although I hope not, that we again get a disappointing result. When that happens people need to be prepared to consider that it might not be because we've played terribly or faffed about too much, we might just waste too many chances again, as we seem to do so often.

She's fantastic whenever she's on Football Weekly.

i dont like the commentator who does our matches, who even is it

Fletcher? Technical issues in recent weeks have let us watch the game with just crowd noise and I really wish we could choose that as an option.. He gets way too enthusiastic about opposition goals, and needs to research a bit more on player pronunciations and facts. Was going on about Tom Brady owning Birmingham..

Agree. I trashed my bedroom when Southampton scored at the weekend. Fletch was loving it.

Grant McCann got the most abuse a City manager’s ever received in recent years, even when we won League One.

Must’ve been cause he was black.

Someone’s been on the sauce again.

No, it was cos he was ****. Gave us our record worst defeat and took us down from a comfortable position. But he did cop a bit of grief for his sandy row heritage I seem to recall.

Rosenior can't be compared to Macca n in any sense.

Who, apart from fruitloops, thinks Rosenior’s skin colour has anything to do with it. Football is a meritocracy and all about results.

A meriticrachly eh?

Now that is being bling to the truth.

And perhaps you can learn the difference between making a statement and asking a question. Cos there no other rational explanation for the greif he's been getting.

Are you really complaining that people are giving credit for a good performance leading to a win And over the last 2 games a quite obvious change in the way we play? If you want to pretend that the last couple of games haven't seen a quite significant change in the way we play the. You're either blind or just refusing to acknowledge it to carry on your obvious dislike of People who have been critical this season.

TBF I have a feeling you and Syd would have complained if last night after a great performance and a win people didn't acknowledge it etc... I just think you're purposely going against what certain people are saying no matter what they say for some reason.

Was there things to grumble about last night? God yes. But as I've always said, no matter who it is, I will criticise when needed and praise when needed.
