But the more this kind of conversation continues every time we lose, the more the theory we are losing because of Roseniors passing round at the back continues. This will filter to crowds and the team will get moaned at when they do it. Poor performances like yesterday will do that anyway. We don’t need to chuck everything out every time we lose. Patience and perspective should also be considered.
McCanns stubbornes did my head in and cost us. If Rosenior was in the same situation that season that McCann found himself in I'd have zero confidence he'd have done any better than McCann did. Just as obsessed as McCann, just with a different style. Both set on their way, both relatively inexperienced. Coincidence? Thankfully it can only be left to conjecture.
There will be a loan market again next season, and we have an option on Giles and will most likely be offering Connolly an extension The owner has said he'll keep backing the manager as long as there's progress. Playoffs or near miss is progress this season. The owner knows the odds are against promotion this season.
I'm hoping for exactly the same thing - I know it takes time with new players, but we've not used that many yet really and the red flags are still there as they have been on and off (mainly on) for much of the season. As for square pegs, I completely understand that some of it has been necessary due to injury recently, but then other times it isn't, which personally just gets under my skin. My honest take on things right now, if we can't push on and cement a top 6 spot after the efforts we've made in January then we've come up short and have hit a proverbial glass ceiling. We need to go on a good run ASAP in order to do this. I honestly believe we could have been firmly in the top 4 right now if we'd been more ruthless and 'up for it' across the course of the season so far. Hopefully Saturday was a bit of a wake up call and we can bounce back. We improved drastically after getting mullered by Ipswich and despite the scoreline we pretty much got mullered by Swansea, so I'm hoping it serves as a rocket for whoever needs it.
I know many people in Hull and surrounding areas that don't post on here,it(this forum) equates to a minute portion of our fan base? Some of the people I talk to on a regular basis think Rosenior isn't cutting it with the resources at his disposal, other's think he is...How do you go about stifling their views? It's Football for goodness sake,it's a sport based on opinion,it's been going on for longer than you and I have been on this planet. For what it's worth,I think Rosenior has been out-thought on numerous occasions this season.I haven't seen many occasions in which we've played decent, attacking football either.Perhaps it's time to take the shackles off and see what we've got in the tank... As for Rosenior,I hardly think my throwaway paragraph above is going to see Illicali fuelling up his private jet and summoning the Coach to his board-room...
Im in no way trying to stifle anyones opinion, but I am allowed mine. Everyone is more than entitled to question whether Rosenior is the right man for the job. But my perspective on it is it’s vastly unhelpful to do it every time we lose. Here and twitter is full of it. The more that happens the more impatient crowds get and the harder it becomes to get consistency going. We should be looking at how Brentford and Luton built and kept going, even when faced with knock backs.
Currently watching Villa bore their fans to death against Utd , pass it forever - like we did yesterday
We absolutely should be looking to emulate Brentford and Luton (and Brighton) but they didn't pour the money and resources into it that we have. They just built slowly and let it happen in due course. I hope I'm wrong but it appears we're putting everything into doing it this season or next. And if not, well who knows
Financially, we can't compete this season with Leeds, Southampton or Leicester. I'm slightly surprised we've signed so many eye-catching players this season. Maybe its to increase the profile, ahead of another push this summer? Rosenior will put pressure on himself (rightfully), if we don't make the play offs, but it still all could be a bigger plan for next year. We'd be more more able to compete with Burnley, Sheff Utd and Luton if it was them coming down.
Yes,you are entitled to your opinion, other posters are exercising theirs but you label it 'unhelpful'. Hopefully we'll win on Tuesday night and the book will be balanced 'for now'...
Just because Acun is putting a lot in relative to what we've been accustomed to, we are a long way from being one of the highest budgets in the league. We are trying to emulate a Brentford. The investment has to be over time as that's how ffp works.
