This style of football is entertaining if played with pace and the attackers are allowed to take men on rather than turn around and pass back to the defence/keeper in order to ensure we keep the ball at all costs.Funny thing is, Postecoglou’s style is still based around possession and playing out from the back with short passes. So is McKenna’s. They just play at a quicker tempo and move the ball into forward areas quicker than we do.
Rosenior’s style reminds me of Phillip Cocu when he was at Derby. It’s just tedious football. It’s probably where he learned it from as Rosenior worked under Cocu.
Roseniorball is jus Cocuball MKII.
Unfortunately we play possession based football slowly and robotic where we do turn around and pass it back. The times when we do speed it up, we usually create some good chances but it is absolutely nowhere near enough and I personally find it boring.
If you watch Tottenham last night, every time they were passing it around the back it was ALWAYS to exploit space quickly with men running forward at will. We just don't do that.
