Problem - Imperfect - Empty - Change

This supposed new era tactic of passing the ball out from the back is utter nonsense because all it achieves, in our case, is the opportunity to make more mistakes, at which we are masters. The most likely cause of us constantly playing the ball back across the centre line and into our own half is because we have absolutely nobody up front to pass the ball to, and when we do they either give the ball away or take a well off target shot. We are masters of our own demise and I'm fed up with having to criticize rather than praise our manager but that is what has been created due to the everlasting ability to only hire lower league players or those who don't possess the skills or commitment to take Bristol City forward. I will agree it takes time to build a decent squad but in 10 years we have failed to even come close to stability, under all sorts of leadership, and a bright future will only be available when the ownership wakes up and smell their own messy stuff. Admitting you are wrong is difficult but believing you are always right is even worse and unfortunately that is where we lie today and for the future. So sad because we all really should want the same thing, and that is success, but until the owners get on board that train we are going nowhere fast.

City dont suffer turn overs leading to goals. Its lamped before then. The problems City have moving the ball up the pitch is a lack of quality in key positions.

It’s rare I know, but 100% agree with Clifton.
I’ve never been a fan of kick long and hope football…
As soon as we bought Adebola in GJ reign it lost our good style of football..
As Clifton said, a couple of quality signings could change things significantly

I absolutely agree with you on lack of quality, unfortunately Junior and Mr Tinnion reckon we have got a side with top six capabilities, someone should advise them.

It’s our inability to turn good possession in dangerous areas into attempts at goal and goals that’s our issue. Not playing the ball across the back line.
Apart from Kodja and Tammy - who let’s face it was a massive punt that worked out well, we have struggled to sign out and out strikers of any use under Sir Steve’s reign, for me it’s his (and our) Achilles heel.

You may well be right.
However I'm not sure TC's scoring stats agree, especially if you take out his penalties.
 
TC and NW both been shocking all season.
I was screaming from the rooftops that 9 was required and they could have brought Moore in who went to Ipswich and will score against us tomorrow night.
I said not bringing a 9 in will bite us big time and that clearly is happening as the season comes to the latter stages.

Think that was what Twine was brought into to do. With Knight dropping back.
 
I’d love for him to be successful here, the performances against Watford and Southampton offer some encouragement, but like Redprint said it is truly awful having to sit and watch what’s being served up atm.

under NP we did sit back on leads and constantly invite unnecessary pressure towards our goal, we were set up as a counter attacking side, I liked watching it more than what I’m seeing now but it was frustrating watching us sit back and defend 1-0 leads all the time.

If we keep losing the moans and groans will get louder and a lot worse, but needs to be directed at the actual problem rather than LM who will get most of the abuse unfortunately.

Stopping the rot after 3 defeats will be challenging as confidence with the players will be low.. LM has got his work cut out picking the players back up..

They need to wake themselves up with support of Liam as I see a team in disarray looking lost in the wilderness. Going back over the comments of some on this thread if my memory serves me correctly we have know on many occasions exactly what was needed to boost our results and then gone out and brought in exactly what we didn't need because we already had that area covered in abundance. Our owners have to take full blame for all the troubles with Bristol City because it is down to them to lead, rather than jeopardize, from the very top of the organization. So many other teams have managed to get it right but we continue to mire in bad decisions and policies and for me the money spent over many years on managers and players that are incapable of reaching the desired quality needed to become a perennial challenger in the Championship. Open your eyes Mr. Lansdown and listen to the beat of the club's heart that pay to watch this dross week in and week out before they pack their bags and look for something better elsewhere. Supporters everywhere just want their clubs to be the best they can be but in BS3 they can't help but notice the apathy coming from all of the top brass at Ashton Gate and as such are totally fed up with the lies and false promises that have got us nowhere.

Perfect response Mike-we were not renewing last season but when the Lansdowns appointed Nigel Pearson we decided to renew.

The football was dire under LJ+DH and was like watching paint dry.

Now under LM we have had a couple of good displays and the rest has been poor.

Apparently LM like for like results are worse than NP so on that basis it is not the appointment the Lansdowns were hoping for.
