Thinking about this some more and I wonder if there was even any spat between Pritch and the club at all...

The club would have been fearful of the backlash from the fans about letting him go a week ago and this little charade has softened the blow all round. Pritch gets what he wants, the club get what they want and the wind is taken out of the sails of those fans ready to erupt because the player "refused to play".

Truth is he was offered a better deal, then it was pulled.
That's straight from Pritch, KS said we have a new deal, then it changed, that's why he refused to play.
It's history now, we move on.

As the club are well within their rights to do so. Very naïve of him to think an informal verbal offer was "set in stone", and immature to throw his toys out the pram on that basis, imo.

But as you say, it's history now

The truth is that the club offered a better deal which he used as a bargaining chip with Birmingham ...

... if he'd signed that contract the club would've honoured it. But he used the Birmingham offer to get SAFC to increase their's.

It's about time we stopped giving in to players.

Or we treat professionals with respect and honor what's offered initially. Not use it, along with a press conference to set the narrative to be changed.

They both got what they wanted in the end but pritch was done dirty. He has the security he wants now I guess.

Glad he did his statement. Loved it here and would have stayed if the offer didn't change within 48 bloody hours.

So was it an informal verbal offer? In which case the club have every right to change their minds.

Or was it a written contractual offer? In which case why didn't he sign it, if he wanted to be here so much? He had 2 days to do so.

In the space of 2 days, whilst going out , doing a press conference saying how important , integral the player is ?

Aye, might be within their rights to change a verbal offer but doesn't make sense. Why would it change in 48hrs?

Without even adding the bit about the press conference its a bit strange. Not like we signed a player who seemed like his replacement so changed things?

Pritch was a decent player for us and I shall remember his time fondly. However he's not going to get any better and he's not at the level to which we aspire.
I don't think it's unreasonable, at this point, to reinvest his wages into up and coming players who may perform at a higher level. I know the risk is that they may not but thats the decision that's been taken. KS will stand or fall by that.
So thanks Pritch and we move on.
