The lad put some great performances in while he was here, contributed to some good goals/assists and was a key player in a team that has been the most entertaining Sunderland team for decades.

He could have left and always been held in good regard here, had a warm reception when he came back etc.

He’s got to the final hurdle and ****ed it. Can come out and say ‘I’d like a move away’ etc but to refuse to play is criminal in my mind. You’ve signed a contract just like all of us with our work, if I refused to go in my boss would drop me like a stone, but footballers can get away with it while being paid a fortune.

Fully stand with the club on this.

End of the day he was a slightly more consistent and (amazingly) less professional Chris Maguire.

1 more game and his reputation would have been in tact. Strange that he's so keen to go to Mowbray when he was largely out of the team under TM.
