I think we have the right plan in place to get there, therell be bumps in the run for sure but i truly believe slow n steady will get us there

Thats why im not overly fussed with Pritchard going, he wouldnt get us over the line this season so giving minutes to younger lads who might be able to do that nxt yr is a good thing

IMO the club have no option but to withhold his wages.

Otherwise it sets a precedent that any player can just refuse to play or train and sit on the beach being paid.

They will look at how we pluck players from relative obscurity and give them a chance to shine, like Stewart. They will look at how we seem happy to allow players to move forward in their careers, as long as we are fairly compensated, like Stewart and Clarke. Players will look at all the players we have rewarded with new contracts over the last 18 months, some of them had 2+ years left yet we still offered them more.

They will not look at what a player with a history of downing tools and having a bad attitude says about his situation at the club.

If the club bend over backwards for one player who’s took the huff, that sends a message that the club are a soft touch that will be dictated to and held over a barrel. It might make players, especially the younger lads and their agents realise that we won’t have the piss taken out of us like we have for years previous to this regime. I’d rather we have players who accept the club comes first than players who reckon they’re too big to be here like we have had to put up with in the past.

Have we broke a contract, I’m guessing TM will have been payed his money upto the end of his contract. Are you expecting Prichard to pay the club the remainder of his contract now? Or is that not how it works?

No.
But it seems a bit rich to complain if a Player wants to end his contract early, yet think that it is OK if A Club does the same thing.

As for Mr Mowbray, he seems to me to be the sort who would rather hae seen the job through to the end of his contract than to be paid the remainder of his contract and be shoved out.

Good question, you'd think a footballer refusing to play would be a clear breach of contract but it doesn't seem to be the case like it would in (every?) other industry. It's like every footballer has a clause in their contract which states that they can do whatever they **** they want and still get paid.

Football contracts aren't like normal contracts. They're exactly as watertight or as porous as one side or the other needs it to be depending on the circumstance.

Enough has happened over the last couple of months to cast doubt on the club's role in this. If it had happened last summer I'd have been telling him to piss off as well.
