A real shame to see Shaw's career stalling like this. Oh.....wait.....

Perhaps I'm as mercenary as the players, but I want the departures to do well, unless they leave on appalling terms. We're never going to convince players that they don't have what it takes to make the step up to a top club if such a team comes calling, no matter how the likes of Shaw/Lallana fare. Having a proven record of developing players into talents that go on to play at the CL level however is a great way of ensuring that we're getting players of the highest quality, either kiddies or younger professionals. Get enough of them at one time and suddenly we're the ones playing at that highest level.

But a track record of success playing for us, with a remarkable history of failure when moving on may scare people into staying. I'm not beyond persuasion by fear Morgan...........MORGAN......

We mustn't worry too much about other results in the short term...it will all come out in the wash. A draw would often be considered a good result with our rivals dropping points, but perhaps it may be better if one team (let's call them Spurs for the sake of argument :)) keep dropping points giving us a chance to jump over them eventually. However, there is nothing we can do about other results.
Interesting concept - you're asking us to control the controllables? :emoticon-0105-wink:

Love the way Harry is always well off into the sunset by the time the **** really hits the fans! Not saying he's culpable, of course - he just has a knack of fleeing the scene at precisely the right time.

He can't help it if it's time to take his dog for a walk. It's always the dog's fault.
