A spurs win would have been good, but an obliteration of them isn't a bad second-best.

3-0 Rooney. He celebrates by having a boxing match with himself and gets knocked out. Quite funny really, fair play to him.

Realistically we can finish above Liverpool and Spurs...may not be Champions' League, but would make us feel pretty good.

Man U are giving us some useful pointers as to how to beat Spurs in a few weeks. Hope Ron gives this game a good watching.

That's a definite Mane/Long game. The weakness of Poch's sides has always been quick attacks against a high, backpedaling line...break up play in midfield, and then send the racehorses on their way.

I was hoping for a draw, but yeah a lopsided Man U win is the second best outcome.

Damaging Spur's confidence and stopping their run is a good result, though United winning does damage our slim chance of finishing top 4...especially as the top 4 at the moment have better GDs than us now.

If we can finish above Liverpool, then surely we can finish above Utd too?

Liverpool are the in-form team in the country right now, and in my book are favourites to take 4th place off of Utd one week today. Whereas this 45 mins aside, Utd have been bang average for months now (and don't forget that Spurs have a lot of recent history of being thrashed by big sides).

(Personally I disagree that we can finish above Liverpool, but that's not my point).

Can see our game against spurs being a high scoring one, need mane and long upfront for that one.

Coloccini suspended for matches vs Arsenal and Liverpool (plus the Sunderland derby).

Put Alderweireld on Kane and Wanyama on Eriksen and watch the Spurs full-backs struggle with the pace of our attack?

If, and I say if, we can beat Burnley with Man U playing Liverpool next weekend that gives us hope.

So long as this isn't the start of a Man Utd turn around, then them beating Spurs today is no bad thing for us.

First and foremost it helps us with finishing 6th, as Spurs are currently our direct rivals for that. But also Utd have some seriously tough fixtures coming up, so it is not as if today was a very rare chance of dropped Utd points. Spurs on the other hand have some very winnable games after this.

Week 30: Liverpool v Man Utd
    Week 31: Arsenal v Liverpool
Week 32: Man Utd v Man City
Week 33: Chelsea v Man Utd
    Week 34: Saints v Spurs & Arsenal v Chelsea
Week 35: Spurs v Man City
    Week 36: Chelsea v Liverpool
Week 37: Man Utd v Arsenal
Week 38: Man City v Saints

Absolutely. Apart from Rooney, and maybe Fellaini on today's form, man for man we are just as good as Man U, so if we adopt a similar game plan we can tear Spurs to pieces.

So basically, all the games not involving Saints shall be draws, and the rest Saints wins. That should do it.

It's funny that if you look at our first XI v Man U's and you tried to pick the best eleven from both, I would probably pick three of the back four, Wanyama and Schneiderlin at the very least despite Man U having spent so much!
